We hunted rattlesnake ridge 2 years ago. lots of deer just no way to get at them. If I do the expo style trip it will more than likely be across the ponderosa on the north end. maybe through in part of the peligreen jeep trail into it. take full days to do it.
you know im game john. just let me know when.

that is what i have been talking about all this time. everyone is so worried about mods for the trip. I just hope everyone is doing mods for the sake of moding.

Hey Mod Squad,
A few of us are wheeling Iron Mountain Road this Sunday. We are leaving McD's in Cameron Park at 7:30am. Directions to meet spot.
This is our annual Snow Patrol run so we will be wheeling and working the side of the road at the snow line educating others. You can just wheel if you want!

ehh I got a little wet doing my idler and pitman arm. cleaned up and regreased my hubs, painted the black part and the dial. looks sweet. I refused to paint the hubs red again though. maybe some new wheels and I am happy for this month anyways.

Rockalot, sounds like fun but ummm it is superbowl weekend.

hey fairy, what was the reason for the trip being after the 5th? memorial day would make a great weekend for a trip someplace. 2 days of solid wheelin and a short day out and home. over course lower elevation might be a better things for that.. depends on snow and weather.

Sorry John, I didn't set the date but I don't care about the SB any ways... TV puts me to sleep, I'm a doer more than a watcher.

Speaking of doing, I too are modding.
Yesterday welded up some beadlocks, painted my grill, painted the center section of my cheap rusty winch and bent up/welded in the bases for my rear shock tower boxes to keep muck out of the bed.

i dont watch the superbowl either.

I could not make the meet up Rockalot, it was vary short notice and i had plans. sense it is annual thing ill make the next one
John the reason for after the 5th, two reasons. B4 asked if it could be after the 5th as it is his dads B-day, plus im sure the snow pack will still be up there. it is quite high and the snow stay up in that area towards july. so the later date will be better for those with out lockers.

As long as you weld them up good you wont have any leaks there.
The next possibility for leaks is how you bolt them. With the 24 bolt rings possibility of leaks is higher than 36 bolts but then again we are talking minimal air loss as long as care is taken with bolting and welding.
Mine is not a daily driver. I wouldn't recommend beadlocks for a DD because of the added weight at the wheel and the possibility of having to add air more often than usual.

Crossing my fingers.

Yesterday's run...

Ran into a J**p jam we had to clear to continue on.

Typical self indulgent photo.
