with any luck i will be in Yosemite again in may. as of right now I have no clue about dates as I am waiting for roads to open. I could probably spend 2 weeks in the park and never be done with what i want.
ANYWAYS sounds like everything is coming together, just don't go spending all your money on the pre-trip and not be able to go on the main trip. almost no reason to have 2 trips if everyone is going on the pretrip to... unless everyone is stoked to go twice lol. with any luck I will be ridin 2 inches taller and 33's come june. just gotta see.
hey quick aesthetics question for everyone thats seen my runner. the hood has bad paint, my dad suggested just painting the hood black but there is some rust on the rear fender and some paint corrosion on the front fender, next to the hood. always been a sucker for red but I have a feeling it is time to change it up. I am not gonna spend an arm to have it all painted to red again so what do you think?

John, I have some equipment to spray with minus an air filter. As you know I use to paint professionally, so i would not mind helping out. I dont care what color you paint it. cost can be minimal and still look good. how much work do you want to put into it is the real question.

You could always pull the hood off strip prime it. So later down the road you can block it when you decide to do the rest of the runner.

you could also two tone that thing, black on top, red side and tail gate.

Hey, i'm stoked to go in June. Wish I could make the pre-run too, but i just simply have to work. It's nice that i have two jobs now because it enables me to actually start thinking about being able to go on trips. i look forward to seeing everyone on this trip in june. sadly i haven't been out since hell hole last july. So like john said, everyone better not be spending all their money on the pre-run cuz i can't afford to miss out on THIS ONE. already missed the squaw ridge trip fairy did last fall.

gotta love photoshop. that looks good John, you do know black is the hardest color to paint, lol. If you cant do the camo John, i can to the primer, base coat and clear.

Black shows every detail and imperfection is why it is so hard to do right. not totally sure right now cause a fresh paint job would just make me worry about scratches, and where I go, it WILL get scratched. I seen a newer taco that was painted an olive drab. I may just go that route cause then I could go and buy spray paint for touch ups lol. IDK yet just thoughts. I showed my wife and she likes it but lift and tires are on top agenda for that.
as for the camo, I may just get a rocker accent kit apply it and clear over it.

i'm all for rattlecan flat paintjobs. very easy to touch up scratches and whatever else. i'd love to paint my truck olive drab someday, but my interior's blue and it wouldn't work for me so maybe flat black. then there's always black rattlecan bedliner - i did my motorcycle in that stuff and i just love the texture of it; very similar to like 100 grit sandpaper and the finish is between flat and satin. when i had my k5, it was camo'ed out w/ drab colors and things like oil and gas saturate the paint and you can see stains and handprints, etc. it worked out though and was pretty nice. i'd be curious to see what a satin finish does. i definitely wouldn't do any gloss paint on rig that you take off pavement.

many coats of clear will keep the scratches at bay. as long as a scratch does not get into the base coat, clear is supper easy to fix.

As some, maybe all of you can guess I am a big sucker for camo. I spent the evening working on several different images blue, burnt orange (second fave), many colors and grafics. I came up with this though and it is by far my fave. if I could figure out how to make it exactly like this. this is what i would have. This is part of one of my own images of the redwoods
