one way or another she would make it. like i said before thier are several roads around and into where we are going. you may have to bypass the major road we are taking but other than that you should be ok
I can write up a map to get you into the main location pretty easy.

also for camping friday night. If you'd like there is a campground down the road from my place. woodson Bridge state park. alone the Sacramento river between Vina a corning. then the campers could meet me in vina in the morning about 8 am.

If we are doing Memorial Day Weekend I'd probably head up Friday and camp then Wheel Saturday then camp and head home sunday. So if anyone is in the bay area and wants to meetup some place and head up friday. Maybe we can pickup more on the way up. Any places to camp on friday night?
If you do dicied to go and if you would like to meet up near I-80 and I-5 pm me and we will see if it works for us together.

cool that spot looks good to me as i was planing on going up on friday as well so i do not have to wake up so early as i work nights, and it sucks. I would be interested in a map showing where a stock yota would have to bypass, I may be able to get my brother to tag along and then Crismcdowell25 would have a stock partner, but that would be in the air for a bit to convince my bro.

K. I'll have to get some copies of USFS maps and I can mark it all out. I think over the loose rocks you'd do ok. It would mainly be the lower slab and peligreen jeep trail you have issues. Both have alternate roads around them. The peligreen mainly has one mile of dificult driving. Shoud be fun. Was thinking of an alternate route for sunday. It is a more scenic trail but we can discuss it once everyone is together and see's the area.

Anyone else have any CB radio action? I just ordered a semi cheap one. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...F8&me=&seller= Might be a good tool to have. Especially if I am not the only one with one. Any other things you guys think I should try to pickup. I was thinking a shovel... Some Chain and tow straps... Stock up on my misc fluids. I have wrenches and tools... First Aid Kit... Jumpers... I don't have too much to spend but wanted to try to shoot for some other useful items.

Handy

Spare tire might come in handy.

What is a good price to pay for recovery strap and D rings.

2" x 20' Tow Strap $25.50
3/4" D-Ring $16.49

I found these online. http://www.4by4connection.com/recstraptres.html

Any good places to look locally? I dunno if I would trust something from auto zone or kragen or if they would have this. Most of their stuff seems like crap.

Um i just paid $30 for a procomp strap. had a $30 one from napa before worked fine

got my shackles for just under $10 a piece at the local ace hardware store.
Make sure you get the recover strap without hooks.

I have a cb. I have tons of stuff when wheeling (first aid kit, fire extinguisher, cb, tire plug kit, extra water, extra fluids, food, drinks, sleeping gear, spare clothes, tools, highlift, jack stands, etc. some of the stuff we throw in my buddy's truck isntead of my 4runner (jackstands/highlift) but its there. . But i don't have a spare tire for my current set.

I have a winch, strap, snatch block, shackles, spare, emergency kit, a few cb's that need installed, small tool kit. Also tents tables a stove, lantern ice chest etc. Make sure you bring plenty of water as we will be camped at a "dry" camp.

U need an antenna to run the cb. The type will depend on how far u can talk and how good ur reception is but a cheap one would sufice here. Radio shack even sells some cheap stuff for like 20 bucks

I am in Santa cruz. But like toylocost I am not the best at offroad driving. And I really don't want to make a fool of myself.

Edit: And my new truck is next to stock right now.

there is no problem. it is not that technical of a trail. the plus to this is there is enough people to help if need be and no matter what it would be a fun time for every one

Alright I picked up a fiberglass antenna... http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2062085 Anyone have an SWR meter that is going or should I look for someone to tune it locally. I've been googling the cb thing. Figured it was like a bit stronger walky talky. Way off... It adjusts by way of a screw at the top. Will I mess up the radio if I hook up the antenna but don't tune it fully out of the gate with the swr meeter?

I'm rolling very stock and dark_fairytales might get his brother rolling stock so I am sure you could make it.

Dude its no big deal..

We where all beginners at one point, i still feel as i am one myself.
But the more you go the better you become.

Yes i was told the swr meter is best, its needed to be tuned properly.
I had mine tuned once and then thats it, and its on a magnet on the roof that has been knocked over soo many times its not even funny. I haven't bothered to do it again.

John where is this trip supposed to be?
