Hey. I'm down in Oakland, but am pretty willing to drive up North for some good trails. I saw the post on the Highlakes trip and thought it looked awesome. I'm more into gettin out and exploring off road then doing lots of technical stuff - but only because I lack the experience currently.
If someone wants to organize another trip, I'm all over it.

well then we need to get one planned sometime soon before the weather starts to turn! i think moderate trails (like a 5/10) is what i could do in my truck since it's not a "built" rig.
i wanna hear back from darkfairytales regarding the pardoes/squaw ridge trail. i was going to meet up with them last sunday to run the strawberry trail, but i had to take care of an emergency plumbing job and had to cancel. good thing i didn't go because he said he sliced a sidewall on saturday somehow and didn't go.
that hogsback run that john101477 planned was pretty fun - you could wheel for days out there, but it's a bit far (north of chico).
since you guys are over in the bay, there isn't much over there besides Hollister and Bob's Mixed. if you guys want to head toward the sierras, we could all figure out some trails to run and have a good time - make some day trips or overnight trips.
here is where i've been looking at suggestions:

maybe there are some others who would like to chime in and suggest some fun trails that they have run. it is always nice to run with people who have run the trail before and have a good amt of 4wd hours.

Hey folks whats up? I am still workin on the LONG trip. it is going to be alot of explore style stuff and a great drive. there are some off shoot trails as well but I am trying to find the "right" ones. If you guys did not know deer hunting season starts this week for most of northern california, I think it runs a month, and then another 9 days from the last weekend of oct to nov. If you plan to wheelk between that BE CAREFUL. Hunters tend to get a lil pissy at wheelers running up and down the trails while they are tryin to kill something. i believe the west side of the valley closes oct 15th or some crap so the west side will be "more" open to travel.

From: Yotatech, because Pirate is too expensive. NorCal.
I want to go. Kinda worried about my wheel bearing and throwout bearing though. And I'd need to know a while ahead cuz my work/school schedule is friggin retarded.

wow this thread is some months old. i just got done doing half of SquawRidge/ Pardoe trail last sunday. I sliced the side wall on my passenger front which sucked because it was a flook on the easiest part of the trail. If you are looking for a good place to wheel Squaw Ridge is a great place to go. It is challenging for stock yota with some bumper scraping but vary do able. It is alsow a good place for some one trying to get some wheeling experance and the vistas are spectacular. You wont need to worry about hunters as hunting is not alowed in the area do to the wilderness area the borders the trail. I want to go again but i need another spare tire now and im preping to try to pass smog so i dont know how cash will work out but ill keep you posted. Bottom line is you will not be disappointed with squaw ridge
