what's the deal with those camping the night before(friday) as well as saturday? i noticed that some have said they're camping at Woodson Bridge SRA, but that's like an hour away from the meeting spot.

i'm down to go wheeling with y'all, but the high lakes are a 2 hour drive from sac area. wouldn't mind camping friday and saturday, but not an hour away from where we're wheeling if possible.

i think we should also plan a wheeling trip somewhere off I-80 or something. i'm told there are lots of places with wheeling suited to this level around that area.

Well im not sure where you are all thinking about camping the nights before. I believe john was setting that up since it would be local to his area..

Now i live in Magalia, about 20-30 minutes north of Chico. (roughly 2hrs north of sacramento)
It takes a little while to drive to inskip from magalia, which would be the "beginning" of the trail.

SO i think the idea was to camp out near chico the night before and leave that morning so its not such a long drive for you. Since we are leaving saturday morning at 9.

yes that was the idea because when we started into the whole thing there were people coming all the way from the bay area. i wanted a place where people could stay the night with out having to pay for a motel room. as far as i know woodson is the closest camp ground to chico or even paradise. It honestly does not matter to me where people stay as long as they are at the doughnut shop by 9.

yes i am coming from the south bay, so i have a hell of a drive there, but if we were to do hollister, you can camp at hollister and its only $10 for a night+wheeling all day the next day. Hollister FTW.

Nor Crawler, we are more than happy to have you come on this trip. i look forward to meeting you. the trip on memorial weekend to the highlakes is set in stone, but if you want to organize a holister run for another weekend, i know several folks that will make the trip. you should start a new threat though because when i started this one i was unable to add a confirm list

i also want to add that holister hills svra looks to be a great area. i will not organise a trip a trip to a place i have never been but depending on the date, would be one of the first time sign up. i really like the fact that there is something for every skill level. another thing is we could pay for a single group campground that holds 60 people
