Check out the 4RocNC Meetings page and you can get an idea of whats out there... Its mostly clay so its a breeze when its dry, but can be quite trickey when wet. I'm getting a 4RocNC meet going there now, check out the other thread. I think I sent you a pm with a direct link. Plus, they have a lake with lake side campgrounds!

Guys,
I can't really remember how big the sites are... you can fit 4 tents on a site right? I mean, we will all be together anyway so it shouldn't be an issue but that shouldn't be too cramped right? I can't remember
I talked to Steve Crawford again today. If you don't have your site, get it now. There will also be an early CJ5 group there and they are taking 12 sites and there is also a parts swap meet at Crawfords that weekend. Not to mention that GSMTR is the next weekend, so the Landcruiser guys will be trickling in as well.

Just make sure you tell him that you are with the Toyota 4Runner group and he will put us all together. He's putting us on the creek as always, which are all water/electric sites. They cost a little more, but when you're splitting it 3 or 4 ways the cost is ridiculously cheap anyway. My site is reserved, but my new camper is big, so there might be room for one tent on it, which Chris (ravencr) usually takes.

Ok, who's tackling something other than the usual 4,5,6, and 8-i.e. who's tackiling an obstacle with a name? I'll stick to the usual, but will video whoever tries the nasty stuff.

I'll split it with ya again, if you guys don't mind! It doesn't really matter much to me where I sleep, especially if the weather's nice. I'll just sleep out on the the ground again.

I'll be game for just about anything on this trip! I can't wait to test all my new mods too. I'm hoping to run Slickrock for sure, and I'd like to take a look at Helicoptor pad, depending on who else decides to tag along. I'd even like to try upper 2 too, if we had some players.

Steve told me today that upper 2 has gotten pretty nasty.

I don't doubt it with the steady amounts of rain we've been having. I've never been on it, but I'm game to try it if others with winches will attempt it too.

Yeah, I think winches should be mandatory on at least every other vehicle that tries the hard stuff b/c if you get in trouble, you don't want to hold up all the other people there with other groups.

Whats lower 2 like now? I heard it was harder to get to slickrock than it was to go up it. I may be game for slickrock, it just depends on how confident I feel when we get there.

Not sure, I've only seen it once and it was seriously nasty looking, probably the toughest thing there. Although I know one of the TTORA guys made up with a Tacoma 4 banger and 35's with 4.56's and dual lockers. In fact he was there at one of our rides-he bought Trailcarnage's buggy and towed it up there with that Tacoma.

I agree completely. In fact, I probably shouldn't even do them without one, because I will become a burden on the group without it. But, I figure if a well equipped rig goes up first, if I have any trouble, they can at least winch me up with relative ease if their ahead of me. If no one's willing to ride withme up slickrock, I'll do it myself, because I've seen it numerous times now, and I'm confident(if it hasn't changed much) that I can make it up that trail.

I've seen lower 2, and there's no way I'd try it withouth 35's and some serious balls. It's way harder than slickrock and upper 2. In fact, it's probably harder than helicopter pad and guardrail, from what I understand.

Maybe I'll let Brandy drive my 4Runner around trail 8 and I'll ride up with you-in car camera!

Well Chris, I may be willing to do it and I know Jeff Horton is going to do it. So between the three of us we have one winch! Ha-ha. I guess that means I have to go up first.

I'll definitely have a rider with my camera there this time around, and you're more than welcome to be in there with us too. I can't wait to attempt it again.
