Hey guys, here's a link to a place that is hosting a ride in June in GA, supposedly the turnout will be to judge if it will open more often:

Might look at wth ya and decide if I'm going to run it, but I've seen it before and the idea of running it equipped the way I am seems like it would be impossible. I think, realistically it's a trail that needs a minimum of 37" tires, dual lockers, and a winch, because I haven't seen many rigs make it.

To fit 37s on a Jeep you're going to need close to 8" of lift and trimming, try and fit some 35s before then, that is one of my favorite stances, XJ or ZJ on 35s, very nice.

A guy in my club around here has I think 38s on his XJ. It looks pretty silly. You run into all kinds of problems going that big with the unibody as well.

Not good.

35 is about the max, and 33 is the comfortable daily driving size. We still have to cut all to hell to make them stuff.

I've seen lots of jeeps break axles when they go over 35" tires. The biggest I'd run on a 44 would be 37's, but that would be only with the top of the line axles and whatever else I could get to beef it up!

I have a 1969 early bronco with a 8.5" superflex lift and have a full length hi-pinion front dana 44 and plan on running 42x15 TSLs or 38.5x15.5 TSL SXs. When D44 is beefed up than it will be able to handle alot of torque from my 351 Windsor, if I ever finish putting it back together. Warn shafts and CTMs and a couple of warn fusable hubs handy and your good to go.

I wish that hi pinion was for my 4Runner. I have a D30 with radius arms that I might use to start a SAS mock up with coil springs pending warrenty from the stealership for blown front 3rd gen hubs. I can do the swap with ext trac bar, radius arm mounts, coil retainers superflex coils and everthing else to center the axle for $400 and an early bronco 44 spindle to spindle no hubs for $400. All I would need is 6 lug outers and brakes.
That how much new hubs pressed in cost at the stealership even if you bring the spindles and bearings in yourself.....
