Running Fog lights w/ High beams

Does anyone have the mod to have total control of the OEM fog lights? Right now they shut off when the high beams are turned on. I want to be able to turn them on at any time. Thanks in advance.

Its under the electrical section. I didn't do the mod, I just upgraded my headlight harness and took care of that problem.

Lou, did you overlook the write-up in the "Tech Section"? And to top it off, it's even for an '02 4Runner which your sig says you have:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f127/2002-toyota-4runner-fog-light-mod-87997/

I did this mod 2 months ago and love it. I enjoy having full control over my fogs. Secondly, I'm installing a TJM bumper in a week or two and since I'll be loosing my fogs, I plan on wiring my new bumper mounted 55wt aux. lights in their place. That way, I will not have to install any new wiring or new switches!

On my '98 I just tapped the "hot wire" for the fogs into the parking lights. Since the power going through the switch only activates the relay, the draw is minimal. My fogs are on whenever any of my lights are lit......

That is how I wired the Hella fog lights on my '85. Works great.

I am wiring up my fogs this coming weekend by tapping into the parking lamps.

What all would I have to order to get the factory fog lights operational for the 3rd gen? Will I just need the the fog lights, because when I looked under the 4runner there was already wires running down to where they would go? 2000 SR5 if it helps.

I went the easy route and bent up one of the blades on the relay then ran a jumper to a hot wire when the ignition switch is on. Then I used a hole saw and cut out a spot for my new fog lights......
