Dual Battery Setup *PICS* please

Hey guys. I will be doing a chevy alt and a dual battery setup on my 80 pickup. I would like to see some pics of other dual battery setups that arent under the hood. I have seen Roger's setup where he has them above the rear driveshaft but wanted to see if anyone else has them in a different location. The reason I am not going to put them in the stock location under the hood is so I can cut that section of inner finder out of both sides and weld a new piece in so I can get more room for uptravel. Any help/pics are appreciated.

Thomas

Best bet is to grab a tape measure and climb under the truck and start measuring given the size of the batteries you are planning to use. That is how I relocated mine.

somebody put there batteries....under the truck above the rear driveshaft....wtf??

surely you mean inside the cab right??????

and you can take both of your batteries and put them in your bed behind your cab in sealed boxes if you want..just gotta run lots of cables lol

under the hood of my '80..i have enough room to fit about 3 batteries...so you should have sufficient room for 2 lol

Yeah I think this is what I am going to have to do. I just dont like getting the terminals wet and since I dont have a runner it limits the places I can put them to stay dry. Just looking for some creative ideas is all.

Roger (4Crawler) mounted his batteries to the floor above the rear driveshaft. You can find pics here: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...atteries.shtml I thought it was a pretty good location. The drive shaft would protect them from the bottom and they would be easy to get to under the back seat. My problem is they would come up through the bed in this configuration and wouldnt be protected by anything.

Also, do you have any pics of the 3 batteries in your first gen?? Just telling me they will fit doesnt really help me out. Thanks.

I thought about this route. Just didnt want to take up that much of my bed. May not have any other choice though.

Apparently you didnt read my post. I wanted pics of FIRST GEN dual battery setups NOT in the engine compartment. I found all those threads in my search but were not specific to my vehicle. I also found the "dual battery tech thread" which has basically no working links anymore so it was no help either. Thanks anyway.

Well I guess when I do mine I will post some pics since there seem to be none. Hopefully it will help someone in the future. I appreciate everyones input.
