New timing belt, tensioner, idler pulley, waterpump, all with 21,000 miles on it!Makes me wonder whats going to happem with 70,000 miles on it.Just to cheer me up.I go and look at all the recalls on ford, gmc and dodge and chevy. Why cant soemeone build one right the first time.Sometimes it feels like I bought a ford. Now the older toyotas 91 to 94 I think are having cracked steering linkage causing steering failure. That sounds good. But so dose the 05 gm trucks. They have a sub standard bolt on theirs that fails and have no steering either.Looks like a crap shoot no matter what you buy.

1996 Limited 146k, i have replaced:
all front ball joints and control arm bushings, steering rack and endlinks, and the lift.
Problems:
drivers side rear seatbelt tensioner, both rear seatbacks rattle on occasion, clunk in the front end, and the stupid middle steering rack bolt is jammed in there and I have not been able to get it out and put a new one in. antenna fell into the fender, I need to permanently mount my Sirius radio tuner and antenna and mount my scanner and CB and antennas.
I do what i can, balancing school full time, working 40hrs a week and trying to go to the lake as much as I can. then messing with the truck.

Just hit 265,40X today, and here is the list
-I think my front end is going under. Whenever I go over 60, it seems to shake a lot more then normal.
-Also, my tail pipe isn't connected to my muffler. It is just hanging there.
-And, I have an oil leak somewhere.
-My module for my back window is broken.
-My skid plate is dented.
-First gear grinds a lot.
-It doesn't always go into reverse on the first, second, third, fourth or fifth try.
-The lever that allows me to turn the cab light on is busted.
-The seats won't go forward or back without a hand underneath it messing with the little clips.
-The console smells like throw up.
-I just burnt out a bulb in my Fog Lamps.
-My rear windshield wiper doesn't even come close to actually touching the winsheild.
-E-Brake doesn't work.

I think that is it.

Lost a mudflap, going to order parts in the morning.
Also dont know if I am doing this right. I tried engaging my elocker and all I got was a "blinking" light on the dash. Dont know if it engaged or not. Never tried it.....

Was getting really bad gas mileage before. I switched the thermostat and coolant and now the mileage is a lot better.

177k km and here's my list!

rust issues on all corners, door bottoms, tail gate, muffler.
just spent $400 on rotted out fuel sending unit
serious rear window gremlin's and tailgate window switch has never worked
broken antenna
same climate control light issue as kcebes except mine goes out randomly
broken seat belt clip

Hey FUZION, I had a rattle in my driver's side window that drove me nuts for a whole year - I tore the door apart a bunch of times before i realized that the screws holding the armrest to the door had stripped out the little plastic thing they threaded into. I just replaced them with 5/16" screws and the rattle went away

My poor truck!

-Needs Piston Rings
-Needs oil change
-Needs Trans Shifter bushing
-If not the bushing, then I need a new Trans or rebuild
-Engine Rebuild
-Brakes
-Paint
-Only rust is on the rear quarter panels about the size of a quarter

After I do all of that, I am going to put: new warn bumpers with front winch, lockers, gears, rebuild transfer case, rebuild hubs, lift 5 inches to clear 33's, put 33-12.50 r16 BFG mud terrains, 16X10 rims (Im thinking black), Dark Blue Paint, Full body off restoration! I am going to replace everything small that will go out sooner or later (fuel pump, fuel filters, air filters, alternater, etc)

I am going to school to be Automotive technician, so I will have the ability to do all of this stuff in.

95 4runner: 114k miles
-power antenna doesnt work, but doesnt bother me since i only use my XM Radio. I disconnected it so now it stays down.
-some times at idle there is this weird black box on the passenger side near the firewall right next to the intake manifold that is making this strange rattling sound. no side effects though

85 4runner: 249k miles.
-truck needs some new leaf springs (i mean a lift?) and shocks. steering wheel is off to the left, even though i had it aligned. they said i need to repack my bearings and tighten my steering box.
-rust here and there

that's all i can think of

1. Front differential had been regularly blowing a small amount of oil out the breather. Flushing the front differential and replacing the breather hose ultimately (but not at first?) fixed the problem. I don't know if the idiots at the stealership put in the wrong weight oil or if the (now) 6' breather hose corrected that problem.

2. Power antenna retracts about 2" into the housing instead of stopping flush at the top. Put a zip-tie around the top to keep it from going ALL the way down. It's never gotten stuck down there, but I prefer not to take any chances until I figure out what I'm going to do with it.

3. A *very* small (less than a dime) spot of rust on the bottom of the rear door (where the paint was chipped by closing it on something). Clean it regularly, but been too lazy to repaint it.

4. A small amount of body damage on the right front quarter-panel where previous owner hit something and the brush guard came back and bumped the panel. It won't ever get fixed and isn't much of an eye-sore -- but I'd still consider it broken.

5. One of my Hella driving lights burnt out and I've been too lazy to replace the bulb.
