What is broken on YOUR Toyota
#1105
My 95 4runner needs some love.
Mechanically :
New shocks and stabilizer
New f/e bushings and tie rod ends
Diffs, tranny and transfer oil changes
A potential leak in the waterline under the plenum (alumaseal is taking care of that for now)
Big 3 upgrade
CV Boots
Battery
Interior/electrical:
new cargo carpet
New speakers all around.
More general de-funking
replace faded tint
Install CB
Interior Rear window switch (for camping)
3 way rear work lights (reverse, dash on, in hatch on, all off)
Install HID offroad lights leftover from another project
Rocklights left over from same project
New Ham radio to replace the one from the old project.
Somedays:
Tow hitch, rear bumper delete/replacement
Front Bumper
Possibly a drop in trunk box (under floor)
Sliders
So far I've done tires, Speedo cable, shifter bushings, oil change, coolant change, general defunking, oil cooler hoses, removed running boards, interior LED domes, blower relay, reverse switch, moog coils,
Not bad for a month's work and it still being a daily driver. and being out for a week with surgery. I feel somewhat accomplished.

Brake fluid isn't greasy. And if for some reason you HAVE a brake fluid leak, you should fix it ASAP as the fluid reservoir on the master cylinder holds about 4 oz of fluid, so there's not a lot to spare.

I do not know if this is broken, and I am new to the 4Runners. My transmission is not smooth when I am in 4WL and reverse. It is almost like the transmission releases and then takes a second to clamp again, so it causes the vehicle to jump slightly. I dont know if this is normal for the v6 automatic or not, but any advise would be great.

Missing both of my front corner lights. Just don't have the heart to pay so much to replace them.
Seat also needs recovered, but I'm leaning more more towards buckets. Any direct bolt ins for a 92 regular cab?
And I'm missing the steering column plastic.

Just try them out as my recommendations. If you go to the yards, synonym for a half an hour. I made a mistake and jumping the gun a couple times and I have a really wide back, especially at the ribs, and most everything I tried dug into my ribs at the bolsters.
You will find quite a few are almost to direct Bolton... But if you want a really solid see the last a long time, is fairly comfortable and has quite a few adjustments, maybe try A Scion tC f*** it. They are super comfortable and were just a little bit narrow for me in the back. A lot less narrow than many of the other ones I tried. I can't handle the prelude seats or any of the other ones that seem to Bolt in fairly easily... They're just tuner on the back and shoulder blade area,... They basically kill me after about a hundred miles. I've seen supra seats and a member on here name of Irab88 has put in Mustang seats I believe of the 90's era, and has since removed them and replace them with something else if I remember correctly.... It's a little different for pickups and I'm sure the 3rd gen Pickups are slightly different than the 2nd gens..... But you will find something that will fit. My last recommendation is to find the seat that is the most comfortable and that you think would fit with a little work or changing mounting brackets or tracks... Rather than trying to find the easiest seats to fit. A bad seat on a 300 mile trip is agonizing. Just doesn't seem worth it to me to compromise on this mod. I think there's even a thread on this, so have at it and good luck man!

PS: $22 each .... For the entire corner light assembly w/lens is too much?... For brand new?.... Come on man, bite the bullet and give her some plastic surgery to get rid of those crows feet! Haha. .. In all seriousness though, I have to pay that much just for the lens on my rear ones and it's almost impossible to find the front one for less than 35 bucks! ....
Here you go, go for it! Hahahaha... Sorry for the manipulation, I just think this looks like a pretty good deal. I may be wrong.......

Still, I would bet dollars to donuts at the dealership charges a little more? Bout 60-100 $ each?

Windshield washer reservoir is cracked and leaking....time to order a new one.
Edit: reservoir replaced, held on with four bolts....super easy job.

1. Rear passenger leaf mount is almost rusted through..
2. There is NO fluid reservoir or motor for the wiper fluid.
3. The muffler is not much more than a big tin can with a pipe running through it.
4. Two of my tires are worn VERY badly from the previous owner running them for 20,000 with no rotation.

'83 pickup
I've got a bad "rumble" when in 4wd and deccelerating. I thought it was a bad ujoint, but that didntfix it. time to pull the front axle apart, I'm thinking ring/pinion or xfer output bearing...

Oh, and another one - '88 4runner V6 5spd. The darn thing will only start/run if I run a hot lead from the battery + to the coil... I'm guessing a relay isn't picking up but heck if I can figure out which one...

Hmmmmm.....
Leaf springs are flat
tailgate doesn't like to stay closed
charge lamp stuck on
Brakes are iffy
have to double pump the clutch
window crank completely gone on driver side
rust holes on driver and passenger side floorboard
and finally we still haven't put her bumpers on
But this is the shortest the list has been since we bought the truck......
List getting shorter:
Tailgate doesn't like to stay closed
Rust in floorboards
still no bumpers
still no window crank
Leaf springs still flat
Charge lamp still stuck on but will fix this week
