twenty dollar center console from wally world, mine looked like crap so I took it out, mounted rear window switches, and re-attached the new one. Best of all it's the same shade of grey, so it doesn't look tacky. Oh yea it also has cup holders, YEEEEEESSSS!!! I'll post pictures as soon as it is out of the shop.

I just moved from kailua back to colorado.
My cheap mod on my old pickup was snowboard mudflaps. I just took and old board I had with busted edges and cut the tip and tail off and attached them to a steel bar. don't think I have any pics though... it was free to me but I bet you could find an old board on craigs list or something for 20 bucks

got some blackout headlights for $20 brand new on ebay. put them on and they were scratching the paint so i went to walmart and bought some of the black door trim and put it around the edges. looks great and works better. don't ever put the stuff on your doors though. they fall off on the highway and leave nasty residue behind on your paint :/

Ipod holder
So I found this ipod holder on sale for like $8. But I didnt want to drill any holes anywhere and I didn't want to mount it to the vents, so I thought hmmm where do I want it? Ultimately I decided that right next to my radio would be ideal. So I found a piece of scrap aluminum and bent it to the proper shape, kindof shaped like the number seven just upside down. I drilled holes in it to match the back of the ipod holder (which already had holes in it for some reason which worked out great, then painted it black and got some little nuts and bolts at lowes for like another $2, bolted it together and there you go.It fits perfectly into where the ashtray is, I just pull the tray out a little and slide in on top of the metal plate and slide it back in and it holds it in tight. I ended up putting a little tape on the end of the scape metal to give a little more grip. Works great. If I need to out of the way it all pulls out in like 2 seconds.

seat lift.... 10 washers under each side of the drivers side rear seat mounts. cost me maybe $1.50 for the washers. PITA lining up the washers tho... think someone makes a urethane seat mount for this purpose. would be easy to make tho
Huge improvement in visibility and comfort. That was my favorite cheap mod.

No pictures, but so far my best cheap mod. Made a agreement with the wife, that i would no spend any extra money on the 87 Truck for a while. But only having a AM/FM cassette playing was not good.
Taking an 2002 Tacoma stereo with AM/FM/Cassette/CD player and putting into my 87 Truck. It's great having a CD player again. The 02 stereo fits right in with the 87 mounts and connectors and looks great. 15 years later, Toyota was still using the same mount and correctors, WIN.

So I like the look of my runner without the running boards, but I don't like dirt and other road crap messing up my paint, so I drilled on some cheap mudflaps. (I have a Limited btw, which has no available OEM mudflaps). They are pretty good, they keep 99% of dirt and stuff off of my paint now.

I have nothing BUT cheap mods on my truck....bed rails are from a bunk bed that the old lady was throwing away....tie downs for my dogs are tail gate latches from a chevy truck screwed into the wood bed floor with a broken dog lead hooked together with a ground clamp from the telephone company...the light switch is off of a B model Mack and the original one is just there to hold a roll of electrical tape...I painted it with a Kentucky air compressor(spray paint can)...I could go on for days, but you get the picture.
