A Love Reborn!

Hi all! The first vehicle I ever bought was 1994 4Runner 3.0 I had it for a year and blew the headgsket. For whatever reason I sold it. When I sold I immediately regretted it. I had found it on craigslist a couple times after that and it always almost brought me to tears that I couldn't buy it back

Well.... I found her again and lowballed the guy at $500. I should let you know I sold it for $750 not running due to the headgasket. He actually took it! I bought it within an hour! I took it for a cruise, through the woods and various ditches Man did it bring back memories! Me and my buddy, now in the army, used to wheel it every single day after school. Like I said every day I only wanted it back, and now its mine again!!! Sorry if I'm coming off geek-ish. I cant fully explain how bad I wanted it back, and now it is back!!!

Here it is!

Cool story! Now you can be making plans for it and start a build thread.

How long was it bouncing around with other owners?

Cool to get it back. I seen my old 77 K5 for sale about a year after I sold it, in the same condition. It was a northern truck completely rusted out. Brings back good memories, I learned a lot from that old chevy.

I bought it the spring of 2012. It was an hour drive south to get it, payed $1800. When I blew the head gasket the following winter I sold it for $750 to a guy that drove 1.5 hours to get it. He did all the engine work and listed it in the spring of 2013 at $2000. Saw it later in the spring at $1800 in a city about 20 minutes from me. The guy I bought it from tonight lived about 10 miles from me. I had been seeing it at a irrigation pond, known as lake Meert, about 3 miles from my house. I always dreamed of it every time I saw it parked there and people hanging out! One of my friends who also has Runner and I always swore that one day it would be mine again. Tonight it finally happened!

This one definitely has some rust but same as you, I learned a lot with this baby. How to wheel and how to fix it after. Never learned how to get it un-stuck. My Silverado has taught me that lesson... many times My 4runner has the same slick mud tires I sold it with. It still does way better in anything, other than speed, than my Silverado.

Has anybody used the multi-mile wild country mtx tires? They're made by Cooper and I can get them brand new, mounted for $540 they're pretty gnarly. I don't care so much about tread life and I couldn't give two cares about ride qualit, that's the last thing I look for in a tire. I just care about not getting stuck. At about $200 cheaper than any mud tire I've found I would really like to go with these!

Cool story and glad to see you have it back. Doesnt look like much rust but that is also what pictures can hide. Looking forward to a build thread.

When I got done looking at tires, I came outside and there was a guy standing next to my 4Runner. He asked if I was the guy selling it on craigslist. I toldhim I had actually just bought it last night. He was the person that owned it 2 owners before the guy I originally bought it from! He told me he had been trying to get a hold of the person I bought it from last night for a while but he never called him back. We must have talked for half an hour about the runner. We shared stories about different things we had done with/to it, and about the things that were different since he sold it, and things that were still the same. I had a lot of fun talking back and forth to him and his buddies about the stupid stuff we had done with it
