I'm trying to clean up these kind of less than pleasing areas of my truck and I might need some suggestions.

For the mirror's black paint marks, I was thinking just some basic Rustoleum black paint to coat them.

For the white peeling sticker and the partly torn off "Toyota" black decal though, I wasn't sure the best way to go about removing them cheap and easy. I don't want to damage my windshield or paint so any help there would be great!

 

For the mirrors I'd say spray paint, for the sticker on the window I'd use a razor and the toyota sticker use a heat gun to get it soft then just peel it off.

 

Ahh heat gun...good idea...hopefully I can manage to get the sticker off without damaging the windshield with the razor lol. Thanks Turbo!

 

When I blade stuff off of glass I lubricate with glass cleaner while doing it, when your done you can use a shop vac crevice tool to get the flakes out.

use a plastic-specific paint on the plastic pieces or you'll be doing it again, and probably with more prep work the 2nd time.

on the actual mirror part that's faded, and since you're gonna be sanding to paint it anyways, you might even be able to entirely sand and buff that out since I'm assuming it's solid plastic vs the mirror base which looks like chipped paint. try a very low-abrasive, possibly even toothpaste like people use on plastic headlights.

 

to make your life easier with the mirror, take it off first, and then do the work. Don't cut any corners while prepping it.

 

When you pull the mirror be careful when prying off the inside piece to get to the bolts, if you have a trim removal tool that will work best, if not a thin butter knife will work. You don't want to pry it off with your fingers or the little ball tab will break.
