I would say it is a good possability. Is it an electric pump? pull the intake line off of the carb and let it pump into a clean container. see if it is pumping well. If it is an electric pump it will be full power all the time, using the bypass to bring excess back to the tank. If it is a mechanical pump it will vary with engine speed, but it needs to be running to see fluctuation.

It is a manual pump.......The motor is out of a older Pick up........When I finally get it started it runs great......It seems like the fuel is not staying in the bowl......IF I WANTED TO GO TO A HOLLEY, WHERE CAN I GET AN ADAPTER PLATE????? THANKS FOR YOUR HELP

My friend had the same problem with his 74 dodge dart. Fuel was slowly seeping out of the bowl through a bad idle screw I think. Once it is running, is it easy to start right away? how long does it take to "not start"? Let the bowl fill, turn it off, and wait and look for the leak.
