mechanical issues with 6" lift on 1999 4runner

1999 toyota 4runner limited with awd option and with automatic transmission.. also a separate problem, can anyone tell
me the correct part no's for replacing the shift solenoids, and how much do they affect the idling, misfiring etc problems
that I also have.. I feel somewhat ashamed that this is actually my 5th 4runner.. although, it is my first 3rd gen... PLEASE
HELP...

You should be proud to have had 5 4Runners. Heck I only have one, and am proud of, and happy with, it.

Ok I'm going to take a shot at this. Your asking about shift solenoids and how much they affect miss fire, and ignition problems? They really shouldn't affect them at all. Does your 4runner have any codes right now? Miss fire??? If so solve that problem. Maybe its due for plugs wires and coil packs. It was a quick job on my wife's 98 limited. It helped hers shift better, probably because it was now running on 6 cylinders again.

Is your rig is not shifting in to a specific gear? Will it do it manually, shift lever? Does it not want to up shift, down shift, maybe just a particular shift, ie downshifting out of overdrive?

You need to give us a lot more information to help you.

shift solenoid

yes, the error code is P0753, it shifts manually, everytime i come to a stop I must shift into low, and then when
i start acclerating i shift into 2nd which then almost instantly shifts into drive... when it does hold it in 2nd gear
it rips... otherwise it sputters

and I also had to replace the MAF sensor

So tour assuming it has a misfire because of the sputter, i can see that idea.

I assume you have pulled apart an automatic transmission before.
If so this is a good start for info on parts

misfire, erratic idle, no power...

so, are you saying that all of these issues are related to the automatic trans?? and that it has to be rebuilt
to fix these problems??

actually i shouldn't have started out with a 6" lift issue.. that is the last of my problems...

Minor issue was the lift but regarding the loss of power rough idling issue..

Back to the KISS method .. $20 set of new spark plugs took care of everything
