Face Gauge

Hey yall! Alright let's get to the point. My daughter's 99' 4runner has a slight issue with the gauge face. Its bubbled in a few spots. I have looked around the web only to find the white face replacement. IMO, it really doesn't fit. Or should I say I like the look of "factory" or "original ". I can't find the black anywhere. I have a few junkyards I can get a entire cluster but worry about my mileage being off. Does this go with the cluster or the ECM? Basically, is there any way to buy the face gauges but in the original color. Thanks guys and gals.

I'm taking it you are looking to buy just a overlay with the markings? Can you post up a pic of exactly what style you are looking for?

Yes, just the overlay would be fine. I thought this would be easy, ha! Anyways I just came in from the field so here are the pictures of the instrument cluster. Thanks for taking the time to help me.

Other people have used Black Cat Custom but a black overlay for a 1999 4Runner is $119. It would be easier and cheaper to get a used dash gauge off of eBay. I think 1999 still has the analog odometer vs. my 2000's digital odometer. The analog odometer is easy to change to your current mileage. There are videos on YouTube. There should be tutorials on how to get the dash gauge unit off under some of the LED bulb tutorials here.

Here's a cluster with buy it now for $50 plus $22 shipping (!).

EDIT: It looks like you do have the digital odometer. $99 with free shipping:

Or maybe one of the members here can sell you a used unit. Be sure to get the right analog v. digital format. I can just imagine her happy face on Christmas morning when she opens a gift with a used speedometer in it.

Thanks for the information. I actually ask another forum (T4R),nothing against yall I just like to exhaust all resources. Anyways, member over there mentioned that I could carefully remove the needle and then remove the two small screws holding said face in place. Swap with new piece from junkyard and reinstall. Havent tried this but do know a few of my local yards that have same dash configuration. The fellow stated what years interchange but I have already forgot, lol. Sooo, I will try and post a how to with pics after I get it all hammered out. Lmao, wish this could be a xmas gift, however it is priority on my to-do's. Oh, I think all the 1999's are digital or at least the limited 's as that is what we always have had (3-1999's and 1-2003).

Did you have any luck with re-doing your gauge faces?

Cause i had the same bubbling problem on my 2000 Runner, so I just went with a complete set of Overlays.
