the 3.0's can bearly hold together on their own. I would say, don't do it,

but with enough fab work you can turbo anything. Not sure if there is any low compression pistons for the 3.0 though.

mainly head gasket issues due to the exhaust crossover pipe. add a turbo your talking even higher exhaust temps.

Well if he turbos it, he'll be getting headers for certain.
And most likely they'll be custom

Hmm? So what's the problem with the crossover pipe? How is it causing gasket issues? Too much EGT's?

Crossover is really tight to the head back in that corner.

Supposedly, the "V" in 3VZ-E means it was built for forced induction ... I DO know the bottom end on these motors is pretty stout.

Big problem is where do you put the turbo.... No room in the engine bay, and it gets hot enough in there already ...

How did you find that out? What does the Z stand for?

Could do like the cummins and have it right off the manifold/header and then to a intercooler?
that would certainly cool the engine down wouldnt it?

a little more digging and found toyota had a "V" engien which was a V8 so it appears they made the "Z" to mean 6 cylinders so a VZ is a V6 and there is a 1VZ and 2VZ if it matters
To my knowledge, there is no relation between the V block and the VZ block ... by your logic, the 3RZ in the Tacoma would be a 6 cylinder (or 2 cylinder) version of the 22R ... which it's not ...

Note that all numbers aren't used in production (at least in truck applications). For example, there is a 20R and 22R, but no 21. The 1VZ and 2VZ never saw production.
