1" bore master cylinder

I've been contemplating a rear disc swap and I see that most of the kits require the 1" bore MC. Where do you get that from? Is that from a v6 truck or something. I did a search and can't seem to find the answer.Thanks.

Robsteeler66,
Please post write-up of your mod. Would like to do that someday.

donomite49,
Good to know that. Is 1-inch bore MC a drop-into our first gen trucks od did you have to modify anything? TIA!

it is bolt on 100%. only thing was to slightly bend the front brake line a little to line up and source a plug connector from a 3.0 mc to connect the new style low fluid sensor. between the rear disc's and a set of v6 front rotors/calipers i have gorrilla strong brakes compared to stock. next step is 17" wheels and tundra fronts...i just have to get a transfer case disc e-brake from all pro offroad and i'll be set.

Wow 89 bux that's awesome! Can I do the swap in stages? Like the MC now and then the v6 fronts and later the rear? Or will the bigger MC mess up the system without the other components? Also Donomite have you seen the thread by Slacker who modified the e brake to work? check it out, seems like a lot of work but a great job.

i dont know of any reason why you cant do this in stages.. the gm calipers from TG do not have parking brake setup. i think slacker is using caddy calipers or another model gm caliper. i remember reading a rear disc conversion thread where you use your own calipers, the kit supplying brackets only. think it was an engine swap thread that also did rear discs, dont remember the name of the kit, maybe sky manufacturing idk.

Yeah, I remember the one where you use GM calipers that you source. I read it somewhere and the author did not use the e-brake model but said you could if you connected the cable properly. I just have to find the right model
