Water in oil

My head gasket blew and I got water not coolant in the engine and oil pan. That was 2 weeks ago 8/16/16. it is getting repaired and there was a little rust on the chain. My mechanic said there might be rust in the bottom end and it might not be good. I would like some opinions of experience guys who have dealt with this kind of thing. Thank you

Not good but lots of guys have been in the same situation and been fine. Your going to have to roll the dice and hope it's good or basically do a full rebuild.

I would take a chance with it. If it just happened in the past few weeks, I doubt it did much damage as long as you did not keep driving it. Was it from the blown head gasket or did the Timing Chain wear a hole in the Timing Chain Cover?

It was the head gasket. Have not got the timing chain cover off yet but there is broken guides in there.

If the guide is broken, there is a good chance it rubbed the cover. Look real close at the bottom right/ drivers side of the cover. If it rubbed to long, it can put a hole in the cover and there is a water jacket where the chain can rub a hole into it. If the chain just scarred the cover and did not get into the water jacket, I have reused some covers. If there is a hole into the jacket or it is a real deep scar, just replace the cover. I have seen where someone in the past tried to fix the cover with some JB Weld material. A new cover cost about $50.

I put head gasket fix in and got 2500 miles on it and then water in the oil so I thought I would try the solution again and it blew out the head gasket. I guess it was time

It wasnt the head gasket. It was the timing chain cover. Damn I wish I would have known that.
