Thought I'd add my contribution to the thread. Finally swapped in buckets from a 90 4Runner SR5 into my 93 4x4 Standard Cab. Seats were covered since new and in pristine condition. Picked the pair up for $300 which I was happy to pay. So much more comfortable than the bench. By far one of the best mods you can make.

Not gonna clutter up the thread by reposting that, but ya, I'm half tempted myself. Thats the most awesome shifter boot I've ever seen.

Doubt there a direct bolt in swap, but with enough work sure, i dont see why not...
I'm trying to fit a set of buckets out of an 01' Hyundai Accent into my truck...

Well... i thought this page would be riddled with ridiculous seat swaps. I guess its just me then:

These are out of a late 90's model Tahoe. And they are oh so comfy.

Mine for the 92' is broken down into segments and rolled in a vinyl bag.

in my hometown there's an old Volkswagen shop with about 30 vw's ranging from porsche's to kharman ghia's as well as lots of fiberglass buggies and just about any other vw things necessary, he even has a 1988 kit car!!!! looks real good but back on topic, he had two blue leather Recaro's from the late 70's that came stock in some vw's back in the day so i offered him 150 for both, they were in great condition. All i did to mount them was cut the brackets off my 60/40 bench and the brackets off of the Recaro's and weld them back on with about a 1in spacer underneath the back. (not eh best idea because im 6 1 but i can always cut it out and re-weld. i think hey look pretty good. they are also angled out a little to fit a sub or a center console. no pics sorry

Damn. seeing all these pictures makes me want to clean out my truck! I have 87 SR5 buckets (lumbar adjust yada yada) but NO carpet and Mc Dee's bags here and there. Now I want to make it comfortable like all of the Cadillacs on this thread

Thanks! nice to know. And nice backboard you're making, you'll be able to mount cool things.

You guys and your bucket seats. Am I the only one who just loves the bench? It's really comfortable and in a pinch I can seat my wife and my daughter in the car seat.

Only problem is most benches seem to be in crappy condition, and mine has a hole on the drivers side. The foam is taking damage every time I get in and out. Is there any good solution to fixing the foam?

I ran the bench seat for 20 years. I like my bucket seat. Besides the set of sr5 buckets cost me only 25 bucks. Comfy and if I run only the drivers seat, lots of room.Name: _MG_2726.jpg
