What kind of center console is that? I likey. The PO of my '87 standard cab dropped in a 4runner console that's pretty worthless. And by dropped in, I mean it isn't attached...

truck that i recently bought that's not running has some recaro LX's from a trans am. They're not fully bolted in as the truck doesnt run so I need to fix that... that and the drivers side is a bit rough so i might just find stocks to replace them and refinish them later.

I'm seeing alot of front seat mods but what about back seats? I am thinking of just getting mine recovered to match the fronts but would love to hear what others have done.

Abe, ... HOLY CRAPOLI i love those Corbeau's! DAYUM! I'm afraid to ask how much... But I know it's reasonable for comfort, PERIOD!
I still love the good old SR5 1st Gen 4Runner Seats... They're just by far the most Comfy seats, FOR ME, that I've used in a long time. Most all the new seats are solid frame under rump ... no more springs. Those that do have springs usually still have such hard foam... after 200 miles, .......well, let's just say it lets you know that it's not Medium Density, etc., lol.
I DID, however, find that the Scion tC seats were VERY comfortable, very reasonable and looked great. The problem for me was the bolsters are just a TINY bit too narrow..., and having that fixed would have been around 50$ FROM A BUDDY, lol... Can't imagine what an upholstery guy would charge. Other than the bolsters? VERY comfy... and fit in without TOO much modification...>>>

Hey Abe, ..... haha... doesn't it often wind up like that? "These are new, fancy and .... pfffft, ...c'monnnnn, they're made by seat people! They must be the best!"... Yet, in the end, the 25 year old stuff, which are PLENTY comfy(just not new and fancy, lol)... end up being REALLY desired to reinstall! lol.
Corbeau are good, because they offer WIDE backs.... That's what I needed, and that's why I went back to my 1ST GEN 4Runner seats. I highlight the '1ST GEN' portion, because; The 2nd Gen 4runner/3rd Gen PU seats are VERY different than the 1st Gen 4runner/2nd Gen PU seats. The 2nd Gen 4runner seats are VERY comfy... but they didn't work for me either. I found a nice pair at PYPart. The problem for me was, that on the 2nd Gen 4Runner seats, the bolster keeps protruding from the side all the way up into the persons Scapula(if they have a wide back, like myself).... And The bolsters themselves are a lil more narrow.... NOT REALLY bad for me... but even those dug in a lil into the middle/upper ribs.
NOT trying to discourage people from the 2nd Gen 4Runner seats... They're VERY good quality... and they would NOT dig into the soft tissue injury riddled Scapula and ribs drama like that which I have. BUT, if you have really wide shoulders, or you're just a big fella..... PLEASE sit in them for a while... I mean, why go through all the trouble of buying them, modding, even slightly(or LOTS depending on which seats you get).... mounting them... ONLY TO PULL THEM OUT, right Abe?(Not trying to speak for ya, Abe.... Just sharing that common theme which has happened to you as well.........'Went and got myself REALLY nice, not cheap seats... Ended up swapping some original like seats back in there'.... right? )
I hear ya, Abe, .... I mean, I have NOT ONLY the tC seats out back... but also a pair of 'Top of the line' 88 Camry Seats with 5 way adjustable headrests, bolsters, tilt, etc., plush gray velour...... and I have NO USE FOR THEM! lol. I MIGHT one day mod the tC seats and install them in back! hahaha. I know, I know... likely nonsense.... but it's just hard to get rid of something you paid good money for, ya know? They are VERY nice seats.......
The camry seats, that well, .... I haven't been able to GIVE THEM AWAY at points that I've tried, on CL... anyway... those would have worked too... BUT, they dug in a lil on the floating rib... So I couldn't do it lol.....

Anyone take out the split or bench rear seats in 4runner and replaced with two individual seats? If so post pics please.
Wondering if any newer model years of 4runners bench seats would fit?
I'm going to order some cheap bucket seats from O'Reilly for the front soon if I don't find any decent upgrades.

I had some 2001 Celica seats lying around that I was going to put into my project 280zx. Decided to put them to use in the 4runner. The nice thing is they came out of a wrecked Celica with only 2000 miles on it. Been in my garage ever since. Virtually brand new.
These pictures don't really do them justice, I'm gonna have to wait for better lighting and repost it.

Corbeau Sport Seats.
Bought these a few months back and they feel just like stock. You gotta get the Corbeau seat brackets for them to go into your rig though. The brackets also need to be customized to fit right. I was pissed because they didnt line up but a body shop took care of that. The brackets sit too high though I need to get them cut down by about an inch or so.

Yeah, my fabric seats in the '91 4Runner were getting a bit ratty so I found a pair of nice heated blue leather sport seats from an Audi TT on eBay. The color actually matches the original interior quite well.
It took a bit of cutting and welding to adapt them to the original seat pedestals but the end result was great.
I also sourced the matching original heat controls from another Audi parts reseller and wired them into the small shelf under the radio. Looks almost factory if I do say so myself!
