Wouldnt I need to bend the forward bracket downward if the rear mounts are elevated? If the rear mounts are bolting straight down, then surely the front brackets will be elevated too and would no longer be able to fit into the frame. Am I wrong?

The first gen 4Runners have 2 latches, the one closer to the back is for the people sitting in the back so that they don't have to reach all the way up to the front handle to get out.

if your talking about the spacer/washer idea. raising the rear will actually level out the seat. after going so high just back the bolt out a lil in front. then retighten. or put a washer in front with a longer bolt.

Ok I did notice that it would level out the seat since the front is bolted on an elevation in the frame, not on the floor. Is 1" of height going to make much of a difference in height? Does anyone know if the seat without the 1" lift sits lower than the OEM bench seat or higher or about the same?

my full bench seat sits higher than the buckets. 4crawler makes seat risers i think. when i raised my 89 buckets i used 10 or more washers. then got the idea to find a large socket about 2-3" long. that way i could see a lil over the hood.

with the buckets in my 86 std cab i have to remove the head rest if i wanna raise them.

2-3" sockets? Do you have a pic of what you are describing? I actually do want to remove the headrest as I never liked those things anyway. If the buckets sit lower than the bench, I definitely need to raise it 2-3"

haha look in your tool box. find the biggest tallest socket you have and put a snuggy bolt through it. tighten it down. i would take pics but i took those seats out and put them in my other truck. if you know how to machine or drill take some solid round stock and make a small lift that way.

Oh I see. A deep socket that can fit a bolt through it. Now wouldn't raising the seat on a 3" deep socket elevate the front brackets?

no pictures but leather bucket seats out of a 96 chevy ext cab with all power options, put into place, and welded to the floor, you sit up off the floor a bit more but they sure are comforatable
