New to the forum officially, but have got a lot of inspiration from this thread in particular. So I figured I’d post my build currently and where it all started. Still a few odds and ends left on the exterior and the interior restoration is on the way. Here is a list of what I have done so far…
Complete body and frame restoration
New motors with LCI head, cam, valves, header
Weber carb
4 inch lift with 33/12.50 on a 10 inch wheel
custom flat bed with functional tailgate and lineX
The day I bought it- this is not me but the gentleman I bought it from.

As my first post, posting a picture of my new to me rig, seems fitting.
I just purchased the SR5 2 weeks ago, since purchase I have swapped the MTs for new BFG K02s, replaced the vacuum modulator and flushed and replaced the improper green coolant for Toyota red. It is painfully slow, but I have already fallen deeply in love.
Finally got some time to put my new rear bumper on, polish and wax, painted my mud flaps and got my JW led heated headlights in to replace my truck light LED’s.
Yeah. 85 to 95 are better homes to the 3.4 than the 96 to 2002 with bad lower ball-joint configuration.
3.4 sounds like a good replacement for 22RE. Does it still leave enuf room to work in? I've seen how 3.0 crowds the engine compartment.

I was amazed how much more room the 3.4 left under my hood vs the original 3.0, except for height.
And yeah, the LBJ should have been redesigned when they went from torsion bars to struts.
Straight from Toyota, amazingly they are still available but obviously not cheap, $400 bucks all new brackets and hardware, the one I got this round was the premium step, the one I had was the deluxe chrome, same thing but doesn’t have the step pads just a plastic cover, and then they have the no chrome paintable. I debated getting an ARB but then it’s black and throws off the front chrome, I like the original style for my truck

For reference if anyone is interested, the one on my truck is the premium chrome, this one is the deluxe chrome, just the pads are different the one I have now covers the edges and has the raised steps on the corners.
These are the part numbers:
