when i get my 3.4L installed i am aiming for 27+MPG highway, and why not when i get 25 with the 3.0 i should get around 30 with the 3.4L right? cause it is a newer motor???

If you have a better gear ratio yes... and a standard transmission to take advantage of that.

Otherwise not likely.

I filled up this a.m. @ $3.69/gal. I averaged 18.2 mpg!!! WoW! Holy head gasket Batman!

Needless to say, I am happy with that. No mods for me. I do run the bigger of the two tires sizes recommended for the 4Runner. I'm thinking of taking the step board off, but my 6 y/o wants it left on

I need to get the butt lift as well....

Good enough for me

just filled up, 16.2mpg pure city driving. best i've gotten recently is 21.3 coming back from tahoe (downhill helps, got 17 going up)

i'll be installing an mpguino in the pos soon so i can monitor it and see where the best shift points, cruising speed, and are. also disconnected the antenna so it stays down and threw 225s on it for city driving.

mpguino: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...pace-2115.html

I've been getting 27mpg every time in my 95 2.4 liter manual tacoma. Of course, I drive like a little old man..

No mods, stock everything except camper top with Yakima racks/fairing.

I did get 28mpg once

After full tune up (valves, oil, filters, plugs, wires, OEM cap and rotor, OEM O2 sensor, brake job, fluids) Im getting 25 MPG mixed driving with 22re pushing 31's. It's up from 18-20 MPG before I installed the O2 sensor. I am very happy with the improvement.

just back from a 4850 mile trip WI-CA and back. Average 22.2 mpg, peak 24mpg, worst 19.5mpg.

'93 4Runner V6 3.0 5speed, 31" BFG tires at 45psi to save some gas. Other than that bone stock and just easy on the gas, I guess.

1993 2WD extra cab
31" tires
4.10 gears
5 speed
K&N intake
big bore throttle body
Downey headers
2 1/4" exhaust
DOA cam
rebuilt 22RE

18 MPG

I've run a few different cams and they make the biggest difference in gas mileage. The engine builder cam with the same set up was getting about 20 MPG. I get 10-15% better mileage using Mexican gas that isn't watered down with ethanol.

37" Swampers
4:10 gears, header, custom exhaust, K/N intake.
at 30psi will get 18 on the highway at about 65 miles per hour.
With wheeling and driving to the trail, about 14 mpg.

98 FJ80 Das Tank, 260,000
265/75/16 Green Diamond tires
Stock gears
30 psi, on highway or city, rumbles along at 1800 RPM and gets 18mpg.
Towing the Turtle behind it, pulls a steady 13.5 mpg.

05 Corolla XRS, 50,000
195/55/17 Dunlop sports
35 psi
30 city, 38 highway.
