Just interested to see what color combos and different styles people chose when rebuilding and painting their motors. I plan on painting the block and everything black then doing everything aluminum in a titanium dark silver. I would like to see what other people are doing

I did my 22RE blue and grey for two reasons: Blue and grey are my favorite colors, especially together; and grey shows oil/coolant leaks very well.

I did the opposite approach. Black block and black valve cover because it hides oil leaks better

Block black and the aluminum bare. Unless you have a show car it seems like a waste of time to make it pretty.

Looks nice on the stand. Not so much in the truck. I don't like shiny things though.

check out 91toy, and his sons rig. Chefyota4x4 and iamsuperbleeder...that's good stuff.

I personally like chevy orange...I actually painted a spare timing cover that color awhile ago and just put it on recently when I put a new head in my truck. Chevy orange with that bare aluminum is NICE imo. gloss black air cleaner and a red valve cover with white writing and it'd be ready for a car show

not really

All the black piping looks really good. I'm not a fan of blue but you did a good job

the blue looks really bright in those pictures...its actually a little darker. but its mainly to see oil leaks if they surface.

Well Toyotally, if I had a 1JZ I'd want to make it look pretty too!

This is a fairly new rebuilt engine. It was in my 87 and had less then 10k miles on it. It was previously a carbed engine that I removed to install a 4.3. I disassembled this thing so replace every gasket and seal there is before installing it into my 93. I had no reason to paint it but decided it would look cool. This is my first engine paint job. Now it's not even close to being finished. I will as updated pics as I progress.

Looking for ideas as well for another color scheme but here is what I did to two other motors.

Blue and silver to match my 86s color.
