I’ve read where shocks cause this, definitely going to check the front end out before throwing the new pategonias on.

Clean truck! The 31's are the perfect size for good balance of fuel economy, ground and wheel-well clearance and looks. The stock on some trucks (226's?) make them look like the knock-kneed LR Discovery or Ford Explorers

Sometimes I see vehicles where wheels bounce on the freeway. That's probably what happens. Either poor wheel balancing or bad shocks that do not dampen the movement of the suspension anymore.
Strongly recommend that you religiously have your wheels balanced and rotated because when chopping gets too bad on one tire, shop would refuse to reinstall it for liability reasons,

Definitely going to get it sorted for sure, the 31s do look just right for sure I was amazed at the weight of them. About 50lbs each. I have a little brother that will mount and balance them which is pretty cool. First I’m going to check the front end out. Then install shocks with the tires. Then get an alignment after installing them as well.
Oh and thanks for the compliment. Been trying to check out your all’s rigs too. Some awesome ones on here.
Wow your 4 runner is awesome!!

From 1984 to 1988 Toyota used as optional equipment the (absolutely dreadful) automatic hubs that were basically a manual hub with an automatic mechanism to lock and unlock. Sounds great on paper, but in the real world not so much. If you move one of these trucks 2 and 1/4 axle rotations backwards, the hubs unlock and you're out of 4WD - a potential nightmare on a trail.
Sorry if anybody has already mentioned any of this - I didn't take the time to read the entire thread.

And congratulations to the original poster, by the way! You can't go wrong with one of these trucks. That's why I drive one. I have to admit that I'm a bit of a purist for the 1979-1983 "first gen" trucks, but all of them are great...

Oh yea I’d definitely like one of the 79-83 models, would be absolutely amazing. Here in Ky it took forever just to find a decent one of any year prior to the Tacoma. I just wanted anything 94 or older but of coarse the older the harder to find. There was a decent 83 in Georgia that I almost took the 8hr drive to see. After looking at so many that were supposed to be fairly nice I was about to give up. The solid front axle would have been great plus it seems the older you go the smaller they get. I love the small footprint. These are perfect little trucks.

Hey guys my truck has one of those plastic bed liners in it and I notice it leaks water somewhere up front into the bed so I find myself always having to Wipe it dry and wedge it up with a rock or something so air can get underneath to dry everything. So I need a bed cover, on the cheap. I just want something that will keep water out of the bed. Really sucks that I’ll have to remove my bed box but I can have water getting in there and destroying my bed. Anyone know of a tonneau cover that fits these trucks correctly??

One more thing I forgot in my last message. There are a few sellers on ebay selling genuine Toyota floor mats for the 89-95 pickup, most sellers are selling them at $85 bucks up to and over 100 per set. I found that one seller had them at 51 and I grabbed a set, very nice they have the Toyota emblem on them and fit perfectly.

The genuine Toyota floor mats on ebay look great just in case anyone is looking for the original floor mats.
I’m still trying to find a bed cover that firs these trucks correctly.
