looking for cromoly axles on my i.f.s

hey guys i busted a left front axle shaft on the trail last nite. Yes its I.F.S. dont have the funds to do a S.A.S yet. does anyone make cromoly axles for the front of the good ole ifs.?

I think that those longfield axles r for straight axles im not sure though. If it is for I.F.S. then does anyone sell a whole inner and outer for one side with boots.

I'm assuming you are talking about the CV axles, not the shafts themselves.

You can have them cryo'd, but that is much more than i think you'd want to spend.

Porche CVs are another option, again, expensive.

I have not heard of cromo CV axles.

Replace it and carry a spare.. bout all you can do. CV's are the weak spot in IFS for sure.

The problem is, that the strengths of the individual components are quite closely matched. You beef up the CV's, and you're going to be breaking diffs/R&P's instead.

I would ask what you were doing to break the CV ... perhaps the money would be better spent on a locker so you can better control the wheel speed when a wheel comes off the ground and minimize the shock when it comes slamming back down.
