fan belt change help

ok, well i was driving up the summit yesterday and all of a sudden, the lights for the alt. came on and it started overheating. well i snapped the fan belt, and had to be towed home. i have a new belt, but i cant seem to figure out how to get past the first 2 belts to get it on. i searched, but there are no specific explanations for this. any help would be awesome. thanks!

ummm, you'll have to take the AC and PS belt off first... there's no other way around it, sorry to say

if it helps, here's some pics of the belt routing

no problem

no it's physically impossible to get that alt belt on with the AC and PS belt still in place; they must be removed first

you could cut the new belt and then snake it around the other two belts, and then.....

no wait....

Replace the other two belts while you are at it. No sense removing old belts and replacing with the same worn out old belts

bleeder, your first picture might throw him off a little, because the adjusting bolt is missing.

that tension bolt makes it much easier to set your belt tension...without one, you need a pry bar to get your tension pulley tight enough to keep the belt from screeching, esp starting cold
