drivetrain seals
i need to re-seal the whole drive train. That said, will a pinion seal for the rear dif work for the front? and same with the output shaft seal, will the rear seal work for the front? Lastly, anyone know where to get a differential seal?

so no one has any ideas then? And by differential seal, i meant gasket.. Output shaft seal being the oil seal around the drive shaft where it meets the transfercase, the front and rears are leaking, pinion seal being the oil seal where the drive shaft meets the differential, front and rear.

Well, turns out i can find them at a few online retailers. That said, yes, the front and rear pinion seals are the same/interchangeable, secondly i don't know what the front driveshaft/transfercase oil seal is called, so i need some help there, thanks.

Most are avoiding the question cuase if'n you take the pinion flange not off it is very likely you will need to rebuilt the dif in the near future afterwards, but your skills could be better than mine.
try emailing gearinstall.com (AKA ZUK) see what he thinks before you start.

.... lol, yeah, so i still don't know what the name of the oil seal for the front driveshaft of the transfercase is??? like, opposite the output shaft seal.... Also, and as it turns out, i drive an 88 Toyota pickup in the land of GM, so most of my auto parts store around here don't carry small stuff, i found a pinion seal, so i'm good there, but i still need to seal up the T-case.
---edit----
oh yeah, forgot to mention, that 4x4wire link is great, but there are like five different seals in the t-case, i don't know what i'm looking for, but then again, maybe the output shaft seal is the same for front and rear drive shafts?????

yes, i have the problem this guy has.... anyways, i'll have to go ask my local auto guru, i'm sure he'll know what the seal is, but i'm beginning to think the output shaft seal if for the front and rear drive shaft??
---edit----
Yes, well, pinion seal is same for front and rear dif, however, output shaft seal is different for front and rear. OE output shaft seals have one arrow for rears and two for front. On that, i don't think its a good idea to use anything other than a Toyota seal, as all other seals don't seam to be the same. As far as replacing the pinion seal goes, you just have to make sure to torque it down exactly as it was, or 90lbs, and RTV the splines, and yer good to go. On local stores, the only local place i have open past 6 is autozone, and f that. That and i live in MI, the land of GM, auto parts stores don't carry that many odd foreign vehicle parts, especially 20 year old toyota pickup parts. ???? (we have old vehicles people) Lastly, i can't get wholesale pricing on parts at local places, so everything i end up buying costs 30% more than it would at an e-tailer. Yeah, and lastly, nearest Toyota dealer is an hour drive round trip, if traffic isn't bad.
