does the sunroof on a 93 4runner pop up to let air out also or does it only slide into the headliner?

anyone know how hard it would be to graph an OEM sunroof into a runner not equipped with one?
I have a 90' Runner that I'd like to have sunroof in...

I've found ragtop sunroofs, and others that use clips/clamps.

I wouldn't mind an OEM electric sunroof though.

IMO, it is more work than the average do it yourselfer would take on. However, if you are a bodyman, I think a good way to go about it would be to find a donor 4Runner with a sunroof, cut out a nice big piece of the roof and graft it in.

There are aftermarket power sunroofs out there - the ones I've seen slide up over the roof (not bad and probably alot easier if no roofrack in the way, etc)

thats exactly how i am putting it in my 98 GMC Safari, i have the whole roof clip off a 93 4runner and i will be cutting about 6 inches around the hole in the roof and welding that into my van. will use some of the mounting points from the donor roof but will also be making my own mounting points on my van. I thought that they would pop up too but thats not that big of a deal. with the way that i'm using it now there is no stop for your fingers, it will go all the way. i dont know why, maybe i'm missing the relay or something but if i hook a battery to it i can use the switch to control the sunroof.

Might burn out the switch eventually - not sure what they are rated for (amps).

Pop up sunroofs are overrated. The one in my Jeep GC does it, and I think I've used that feature once.

LT1 Astro, eh? Where are the pics?

When i install it i will put a 20 or 30 amp fuse on it but for now i hot wire it to see if it works. Check this thread out to see how i will hotwire it and fuse it, do you think that will be ok?
