bought truck with problem 22re,, replaced engine....problem still remains. UGH HELP!
So I have searched high and low for threads with similar symptoms that my truck is having and I have found nothing that helps.
It has a weird no power under load issue. it was like that when I bought the truck and I have replaced the worn 22re with a 150K good running 22re and swapped out the auto trans for the 5 speed as well as put on a TRAIL GEAR 4" solid axle swap lift kit.
now I want to drive it! haha I checked for a plugged CAT, problem still there, replaced the fuel pump, problem still there, swaped my buddies good air flow meter. problem still there.
So I'm wondering what other components from the original truck could affect this weird hard start, no power under load issue?
PLEASE help I really want to drive the truck. I have had the truck since july

yea you can rev it up in N but it has a hic up at higher RPM. yea the clutch is 6 months old and came on the engine that I pulled out of the donor truck. and I have driven the truck it just has no power and acts really weird.

does the air flow meter have to match up with the TPS sensor? cause my air meter is from my 1993 truck The 22re I installed was running perfect and has 153K on it. and was out of a 1994 pickup

Did you switch anything over from the old motor to the new one? When you say hiccup, do you mean it revs up and then sounds like the fuel is cutting off?
It sounds like a TPS issue to me. You can unplug it and drive without it. See if that solves your problem. If that fixes it you need a new TPS.

no its a complete motor, I didnt have anything from the old motor. all I did was plug in a couple vac lines, the plugs to the computer and the fuel line. I have the motor in and hooked up in like an hour

no I didnt, but see the strangest thing is that I heard the new engine run before me and the seller pulled it out of the donor truck and it ran great! so what was left on my truck that would affect engine performance?
