22re rough idle and stumbling

Hello all,
I've searched, read, and have been replacing parts on my 85 22re runner for weeks now and I still have a rough idle and stumbling below 2k rpm. After 2k the truck seems to run fine.

truck ran well up till a couple weeks ago and now it's running like crap.
work done:
valve adjustment
oil change
seafoam 2x in intake and oil
fuel injector cleaner in gas tank
pcv valve changed

i thought I had a stuck valve but I changed the oil again and the tapping went away and then I had the valves adjusted

here is a video of some smoke coming from the oil cap and pvc valve - is this normal?

as far as the pressure coming out of the oil fill cap mine dose that also, not saying it should but I believe it is normal crank case pressure, Looking at your vid tho I didn't hear the idle change when you pulled the pcv? is it just not that loud that should make some change to the idle.

oh also, on the stumble /rough idle I posted my finding on here dealing with a similar problem I would link it but don't have a clue how, you can search my posts for it not many. Anyway problem a vac leak problem. Try this turn idle screw on throttle body all the down should kill the idle till engines dies if not you have a pretty good vac leak somewhere.

do you have the old iac control valve or the newer model ones? I had this problem with my old version..switched to the newer plenum/throttle body with the new style iac..and fixed my low end idling and stumbling problems

so turned the idle screw down and she died so that's good. I have a new tps sensor cause mine failed the test. Hopefully that's it!
thanks for the info!

i guess I have the old. I don't think it's been changed before. Got a source on where I can get the new one? Is it expensive?
Just blocked off my egr so hopefully that helps

Thanks, Christian

Crankcase pressure and oil mist is totally normal. As for the rough idle, throughly check for cracked vacuum lines on top of the motor and more importantly UNDER the intake manifold if this is a EFI truck. We had a hidden line be the cause of a slow to return/rough idle on my son’s 85 EFI truck.

Make sure you do the proper TPS check and adjustment per the factory manual or 22RE Performance write up on their site. They go into good detail there.
