Is anyone running a 285/75/16 on a 1st Gen?

Did the whole search thing, and all I could find was 1 old thread & the rest are all on 3rd Gens. Will a 1" BL (possibly BJ spacers) work to fit these tires?

Thanks

I run 285/75 16" Pro Comp Mud Terrains on 16 x 7 stock 05' Tacoma rims. They worked fine in this old pic with no suspension lift and 1/2" body lift. I rolled this truck last August

I have a buddy that ran 285's with ball joint spacers and he leveled the rear to match....it looked really good! But he sold it and I'm not sure if he has any pics of it (an 88 4runner I think).

I agree!! That is an awesome looking rig! I really like that hood scoop as well. I'm sure we and Tacoma750 would like to know where you got the scoop haha. Thanks for the pic! Oh and I'd be mounting the tires on some 16x8 steelies.

Thanks man. The new truck looks even sicker (to me, anyways) I got the scoop from an ebayer who is no longer in business.. Unfortunately, the hood and scoop were trashed in the rollover. My new truck looks the same but without the chrome, stripes, and cool hood scoop. It's basically a lifted, blacked out version of the above. I'll get some pics up soon. Some crappy pics of the new one (before 2" lift, refurbishing top, painting hood scoop and door trim, etc) can be found here-

Hey what other tire size have you run? I can't really decide between 285 & 255. I think the 255 is a bit too skinny, but the 285 is almost as wide as a 11.50. Also, I'd like a lighter tire... Wish they still made a 265/80/16. Ahh... perfect.

I really like that hood with hood scoop built in. Will that fit a 2nd gen 4runner?
