all what appear was cb radios antenas in the search. The base where the antena mounts its getting loose. Do i have to remove the fender to adjust it? Its a 88 Pickup sr5. Thanks guys in advance!! ps im trying to figure how to upload pictures...

its a switch problem.

and no you dont, you have to take the inner wheel well out. not the whole fender.

If it is like my '85, trivial fix:

Or the bolt inside the fender may be loose:

An update, the mast of the antenna is broken and I try to fix the high lights, but dint work. Would be better to replace the antenna with a aftermarket one with a low profile or should i buy just the mast or an complete used antenna in ebay?

u can do a mask but when u go 4wheeling u could end up busting it off if u forget to turn off the radio, and with the headlight u might just need to replace the whole combo switch.

You could do this approach... It's a rubber mast and I used an extension cable ($4.00 @ autozone)

I can't tell any difference. The truck never had an antenna from when I got it. I had tried to mount it to the fender, and hated the way it wanted to lean out to the side. So I got this bright idea, and haven't had any complaints.

yea you dont wanna break an antenna off. it sucks. goota replace the whole thing, unless you can find a way to get the threaded part out, i tried EVERYTHING i could think of. and dont buy one of those autozone ones if you want it on the fender. pissed me off so much cause it leaned so i layed it across my dash for like a month till i got a toyota one. friggin narrow trails!
