Another BJ Spacer question...

Does anyone make BJ spacers that do NOT require you to cut/grind the UCA? Or can the BJ spacers be ground to work without messing with the UCA?

due to the contact patch needed to fully mate up and support your ball joint, the spacers kinda have to be the size they are. done correctly, you're not really cutting off enough material to significantly compromise the structural aspects of the a-arm. for normal DD or light-medium offroading you will be ok. if you plan to wheel your rig any harder than this or pre-run/jump your rig, then you most likely won't be worrying about any of this because stock IFS components just aren't gonna work for those situations.

It might seem difficult to stomach the idea of cutting parts off of your suspension, but it's not a high stress part you're removing, it's not easily seen if you decide to revert to stock, and all the cool kids are doing it. Get out the grinder.

You're cutting a sliver off your upper control arm... Nothing bad is going to happen.

If you zoom in a bit, you can see how little is actually removed to allow clearance for the BJ spacers.

Thanks for the pics. It makes sense now. I was thinking that the grinding was done on the FRONT of the UCA not the back.

I can see some BJ spacers in my future.

I appreciate the responses guys!
