'86 4Runner latch and sensor issues

The "Rear Door" idiot light is on even though the rear gate window is up. The only problem I can find is the the gate is slightly pushed out on the driver's side. Help?

Is the lock button going down when the window goes up?

yeah, you have to have the rear locked and the rear door light will go out. this is irregardless of the window being up or down.

The door won't completely lock, but I am able to lean against it and use the key to roll the window up. When I do that the lock goes down like normal. The window is currently rolled up and the lock is down but the light is still on and I can't use the front Rear Window control.

There is a door lock detection switch. If it's not fully closed it breaks the circuit for window motor. That's why you have to lean against it so it detects the tailgate is closed.

this is what the switch looks like. It's on the edge where the tailgate locks to the bed.

From: Nashville TN. I can help you if you're close BUT NOBODY CAN HELP YOU IF YOU DON'T FILL YOUR LOCATION IN!

Or you could rewire it so it looks as if it is fully closed. I'm assuming that the window lines up with the rubber molding.

Hmmm... I can't roll my rear window up if the tailgate's not locked first.
