haha ok cool dude! didnt really want to keep the old 3vze but i cant justify spending over 2k on a 3.4 yet, 3vze runs really good and strong power all the way up to 5000 rpm only thing is if you let it idle for more than 4 mins it starts to warm up? so i figure the water pump is done since the rad also looses coolant some how??? lmao. its not the HG because theres no water in the oil and theres no steam out the exhaust so... i think the water pump leaks and the valve covers leak a bit too. but man its nice to go from a 22re to a 3vze haha the extra power is sooo nice haha

On your breakin question you were asking about, I always jsut used my preferred oil of Castrol and ran it for a couple of hundered miles then changed it with a new filter. I dont drive it hard and I really dont just baby it. After a few hundred miles I start driving my normal driving. There may be better ways but this works for me. Looking forwrd to hearing this running

i can tell ya right now...i wish i would have swapped for the 3.4.

i've dropped prolly..$1500-$1800 on this 3vz..and coulda had a 3.4 with less than 150,000 miles for less than $1000 and had the swap done for $2000 i'm guessing (leeway too).

but then i wouldn't have a brand new motor? lmao

lol yeah 3.4 is much better forsure and one with a 150k is better than a rebuilt 3vze imo, since the 3.4 is way better. im only doing what im doing so it will last me till after winter, then its 3.4 or 4.3 chev like the 3vze isnt that bad... when its running good lol as soon as it turns its ugly head then its just badddddddd. ticking time bomb all the time. if i went 3.4 then i would still be ifs and barley locked and geared. im just going to run the 3vze and SAS. then i can wheel and enjoy it, then 3.4 and such

So how far are you from having this running? Have you found your no start problem? The 3.4 swap Is a swap I would like to have, but I have tried swapping different motors before on other cars in the past and it can get complicated, for me anyways. Once you get this running, and driving it will all be worth while. Hang in there.

i think my no start problem has to do with the Alarm system that is on it..i think when i was trying to roll down the rear window by applying direct 12volt power to the wires going to the tailgate.

i applied power to one wire...it sparked, and i heard a click come from the front of the cab/engine bay area.

so i'm thinking that my Alarm thinks i was trying to break in, and it has now "locked" up...maybe being unhooked from power for about 5 months cleared everything, idk.

i COULD potentially start it tonight, if i can figure out the no start problem. lol yes, I'm THAT close.

Torque the Crank Bolt, install fan, install radiator, clean and install my oil cooler. Put fluids in, bleed slave cylinder, turn the key and hope for a start...if no start, then start troubleshooting!

lol idk man.

well my dad calls and says "Oreilley's has that Oil Cooler seal kit! go get it, it's being held under my name."
Me: " okay i'll go get it right now"
get to oreilley's...they search around for the package..finally find it and say "here it is...GM/Chrylser/Jeep...should fit your Toyota, because it says Universal."
Me: did you guys REALLY just make me drive 10miles....to try to sell me a UNIVERSAL oil cooler seal kit....that SAYS it fits GM/Chrysler/Jeep!?!??!??!"
Guy behind the counter: "well sir, it says Universal."

Oreilley's....big FAIL.

ordering correct kit from Toyota tomorrow.
