got some more pics for you guys lol

that's my new downpipe it clears everything..but it's gonna have to be bent out a little, as in less of an angle

the Black line is roughly the centerline right now, the RED line is where the center line needs to be...i think...

*the upper intake manifold is just sitting on there...not ready to go on yet lol

yea it's getting a little closer everyday..

Got my NGK V-power plugs as well! gonna gap em to .036 instead of the factory specified .031...gonna see if it gives me a little more "umph"...also going to advance the timing by 3* after i've had it running for a bit...want to see if the timing advance helps any.

next on the list is to put the plugs in, then the distributor, make sure i got all of my plugs hooked up on the lower intake manifold (gotta get all 6 injector plugs, 2 of mine are busted in half...and the rest of them have their clips broken off, so ima get all 6 lol) after i check and double check that, i'm gonna put the upper intake manifold on, then after that i'm going to move on to the Alt., power steering, A/C, fan, shroud, radiator...lol and so on.

i was also checking out the FSM EGR section...and i think i could just take ALLL of the stuff it shows OFF, and just make block off plates where needed.
this is something i can do at a later time though, so i will contemplate it some more..and see what happens.
i'll also be upgrading the Alt...but at a later date as well.

also gonna be deleting the charcoal canister as well..lol tryin to clean up the engine bay as much as i can guys.

another question guys.

i remember searching this topic before the summer..and i don't believe i found a clear cut answer.

my exhaust (how i want it to be ran) will be 2 individual pipes going into a Dual inlet Single Outlet muffler.

now i figured i could just keep the O2 sensor on the driverside exhaust pipe..and just run the passenger side pipe back to the muffler.

well then i got to thinking that maybe the O2 sensor won't read right because now it is only getting half of the exhaust gasses that it is supposed to.

will this present a problem? or will i be okay?

it wouldn't be a problem to make a Y-pipe to go into a single inlet single outlet muffler..but keeping the duals to the muffler was just a thought of making things easier.

so..anybody wanna gimmie an idea as to how the A/C bracket bolts to the block?

i mean, i see the holes where it SHOULD go....but the motor mount is using one of them?

the A/C has 5 bolts that hold it on..

two of them go beside the oil pump.

one goes towards the front of the side of the block, right above the oil pan.

then the other two are at the back of the bracket, and about 4.5" apart.

the ONLY holes that they could go in (that i see?)...one of them is taken up by the bottom motor mount hole....

i don't necessarily need the A/C however because winter is fast approaching....but the A/C aids in defrosting the windows....so i kind of do need it.

i really want to...but just to get it ready to go...i'm going to skip that for now too.

i will probably however just take it all off pretty soon and get some block off plates made.

unless someone has an objection to this?

i dont see why the o2 sensors would matter??? wouldn't it be the same as gutting a cat and it throwing a code? and are you gonna run a cat? your saying your gonna run a dual in single out muffler. if your keeping cats you would have to get 2 then and you might as well go true dual. lol

i only have one O2 sensor..and it's right behind the T-case crossmember.

IF I CAN GET AWAY WITH IT...as in if the SENSOR will let me..then i'll run duals to the muffler and single out.

but..if i do that, then the O2 sensor will only be getting half of the normal exhaust gasses...which makes me think that it will throw the code.

if it WILL mess with the O2 sensor, then i can have a Y pipe made..and then just run duals to the Y..then put the O2 sensor behind the Y..and it will be just like the Doug Thorley crossover stuff (essentially LOL)..and then i'll just run a single in single out muffler.

i aint gonna run true duals bro lmao..too much work..and theres no point for me

I'm also changing my mind...i'm going to be blocking off my EGR (completely) and taking it out of the engine bay.

if this presents a problem in the future then i can just put it back on LOL

making block off plates out of the metal put on roofs, before ya lay down Shingles.

O2 simulator you mean? lol

it's not that...my truck is not equipped to run 2 O2 sensors..it's just equipped for one.

i just don't know if the change in the volume of exhaust gasses will be a problem or not if i split the pipes all the way to the muffler.

if it will cause a change then i can very easily just throw a Y-pipe on there and be done with it that way

lol yea it prolly would sound pretty good...but it wouldn't flow well lol not enough back pressure/velocity to properly work.

i'm thinkin about puttin a single chamber flowmaster on it lmfao...dumped of course..not wanting to run a full exhaust yet.
