2nd gen 4runners lift guide
#202
I have bought all the FJ80/BJ + Brackets set up; But I keep reading on other forums that its worthy to purchase a LC spring adaptor plate that sits on the top, or else you can have the spring pop out.
How true is this?

clarify
i have a few diffrent questions with the fj80 rear coil setup on the second gen 4runner. to clarify a few things.
1. can you use one set of the fj80 coils or do you have to have two off the same side?
2. do you need the panhard bracket? and where can you purchase it?
3. do you need extended brake lines? and where to purchase this?
4. and do the OME 901 hD (i believe that the name) serve the same function (lift wise) as the fj80 coils? and are the same mods necessary to implement them?
just wanted to clear this up because the thread is a little confusing. i know this has been beat to death but i appreicate your responses
thanks

That Guy
1= you can use one set just make sure that if one spring is taller than the other put the taller spring under the side with the gas tank.
2= you do need to add a panhard bracket which is sold by 4 crawler. http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/...ngSpacer.shtml
3= you would feel much better if you did put in longer brake lines or else you will severely over stretch your stock ones sorry but you'll need to search for where to get those try marlin
4= and yes they are virtually the same the 901 hd's will be a stiffer ride though which could possibly decrease rear articulation.

So a friend and i split on two sets of fj80 springs. I know have the chioce of either the shorts or the longs. i'm putting in 1.5" bj spacers in the front. I would like the truck as level as possible. Which should i choose?

you can use either set. the taller set won't give an extremely noticeable change over the shorter set.
when combined with only the front spacers the rear will still be higher but you have to really look for it so you will be good with which ever set you choose

this is how she sits now...
Running 35's..901 OME's rear, 1.5" RB BJ Spacers front, really cranked the t-bars..Super stiff front end...
Purchased Sway Away T-bars for the front...need time to install...should soften the ride a little..

that looks nice! ^^^ i like how there is no body lift
.
all sounds good to me but i wouldnt do a body lift imo they look wonky and i cant stand the frame hanging down so far. the most i would go would be 1" to just barely fir a 3.4 . imo its all susp lift

i went with the cruiser coils and ball joint spacers. 09' tundra shocks in the rear and toytec extd. lenght shock in the front. and mine sits lower in the front how can i fix this with out messing with the t-bars.

First off let me explain that you do not need a lift kit to fit 33x10.50 or 33x12.50. the 10.50 will fit with no rub at all, while the 12.50 will fit with some rub, backspacing will help take care of that rub
example:

Also you can do a body lift for Farly cheep
Example with 2" body lift

hood scoop is a must then no body lift for me. didnt 904runner do it withpout a body lift? didnt he just smash his hood up a bit to fit it?
