stock height?

I'm trying to figure out how much of a lift my 1985 toyota xtra cab has. I believe it is a 4 inch lift but not sure. I'm running 31" tires, the previous owner told me it could run 33's. If anyone know what the stock height of an xtra cab 4x4 was please tell me.

Not sure of the exact height but I'm pretty sure it could fit 33s from the factory.

I just talked to the previous owner and he says that he believes it has a 3" lift. luckly he kept all of the paper work on the truck so now I'm just looking through the file. But thanks for your feedback

I'd add "with proper wheel offset" after that.

Cheers!

I have 33's and 4inch allpro front springs with shackles...And my runner flexs great but at full flex I think 35's would rub cause I'm close right now and I've done some trimming too so I think they may fit but they would rub when you turn for sure.

Highly unlikely, I had a 3.5" suspension lift with stock wheels (15x6, 3-3/8" backspacing) and 33x9.50 tires and rubbed bad on the rear of the front wheel well even with wheels straight ahead:

I had to add a 1" body lift to clear those tires a little better and finally moved the front axle forward (it moves back as the front springs compress) to clear some wider tires:

I had a buddy with a stock '85 and he had rubbing issues with 31x10.50 BFGs on 8" rims (due to the added width). We threw on a 1" longer front spring shackle to fix that issue.

3/4" initially, then 2", then 2-3/4" finally:

Won't work, you need at least 3" of lift to fit the drag link and tie rod between the springs and frame:
