A quick coat of rattle can tractor paint on the window frames for the cap. I only had all summer to do this and just got to it now. It'll need attention again but I did manage to fix the rott holes, for now.

I got to see the 4runner during the day today 😂

I added these wipors that I got from Job Lot of all places, on the cheap. They look pretty good. Plus I cleaned up and painted the wipor arms.

I forget to mention that they are kinda different and I liked the way they clamp on although they are plastic but think I'll like them. Two bucks cheaper too.

Out getting parts for another old vehicle from a local vintage VW supplier. Bug City in Newington CT then a a little bit of tailgating with family at Stew Leonards until the stupid rolling political add truck parked next to us blasting the stupid speeches. We couldn't even have a conversation with each other after that.

Then later on we drive a town over, Suffield CT to take some sunset photos and pictures of the historic houses out there.

I recently got some 35mm film for my old Nikon camera so did some messing around with that there also. Looking forward to seeing how they come out. I even found a roll of film already used in the camera. I'll have to see what that was!

Current mileage

Mileage at engine rebuild .

I
was driving one day and realized this is such a low"original mileage " truck. I thought it was reported that this had over 250000 miles on it. I never really looked at the odometer. The real reason is, this isn't the original dash cluster. This is a DLX so I assume it was replaced with the SR5 dash cluster for the extra features. Complete with the corresponding oil pressure switch. Cool! Then one day I found some notes in the center console recording the miles when swapped. It looks like this is possibly the third dash cluster.

A few photos from today's adventures in pumpkin picking and dropping the FJ off for new shoes then a stop at a friend's place. Just like that and another 90 miles.

On the rare occasion I get to drive it all the way to work, 1/4 mile. I go through the neighborhood to make it at least 2 miles.

Oh just another foliage cruise, look at all the colors orange, yellow, red and white?

we took another trip out to Storrs CT. When dropping the FJ off for some new tires last week my wife noticed a Blaze Pizza out there. It's good place to go if you have dietary restrictions. This whole area has changed a lot over the past few years. It's the surrounding area for UCONN.

A cool stop on the way back.

I did a thing today.....

new 1967 to 1984 Land Cruiser wheels . We ether had a bent wheel or several and / or the tires were out of balance. I saw this done here on an 84 pick up and really liked the look. It's funny when these were new I thought alloys were it now I like steel wheels.

here is the cool build I got the idea from.

when originally installing the CB I had the best place to run the antenna wire into the cab along with these other wires from the fuel tank. It was so nice using an original wire grommet. Turns out that it was along with the fuel pump wires and constantly caused interference with the CB. So the other day I finally fixed that I made a hole for it and ran my own Gromit now we get to use the CB as a CB. It worked out nice between me in the FJ and my wife in the 4runner coming back from the Storrs Automotive in Storrs CT.

Now I'm getting photos sent to me from my wife at her work enjoying a lunch time picknik, tailgating in the parking lot.

Yesterday I couldn't get a photo of the drivers side because the rear hubcap gave me a heck of a time going on. A nice lady out in Storrs even asked if we needed any help when I was wrestling with the hub cap. Lol.

just a few regular everyday daily driving photos ....

I can't wait to see how this comes out on film. I did some messing around with the old Nicon today.

I saw this cool 90s pick up, at least I think I saw it😉😂 spoke with the owner for a little bit. He thought at first the 4runner was a pick up too.

Time for some seat covers, the drivers side seat was starting to rip apart.

saw another camouflage yota or it was it just four wheels in the road? 😂 Yesterday though the 4runner was the center of attention at the local hobby shop. The guy working there came out to get photos. That's not the usual attention this thing gets by the locals. It's usually more of a look of disgust, like they might get tetanus from it. Lol.

Due to the rear driver side shock bushing totally disintegrating I decided it's time to finally get around to replacing shocks. I'm not really sure how much this truck was lifted so I needed to make some measurements first.

Oh boy what a job getting the front shocks to unbolt from the axle.

I had to cut the bolts off as much as I could then pry the shock mount open because the sleeve was rusted to the bolt and was too big to come out of the mount. All that just so I could measure the shock. New sleeves and hardware is now in place until I get the shocks for the front. It's almost like I was never there 😉

just watched this show about the Mohawk Trail. I've never heard it called "route 66" for our area before. We knew just how historic it is but this really puts it into perspective.
