heater system Question

my heater/fan/air system (has no ac) well it seems to be full of debris like pine needles and leaves. so when i turnt he fan on i get hit with a ton of smelly needles and stuff. so where do i open theis thing up to clean it out?

also my heater controls dont really work, the hot/cold wont go back and forth, it just stays in the middle. and the niether does the bi level, fan, defroster.so how do i fix this?

Pull the fan out and clean it out:

Check the heater valve on the firewall:

If it works OK, then the cable may be broen or jammed. Diassemble, find and fix the problem.

On that bi-level thing, the piece that the cable hooked up to was rubbing up on the housing and I ended up breaking the control in fury.

Guess who needs to take apart there dash now?

Pull all the knobs off the controls and then you should be able to put a small screw driver inbetween the cover and the dash and pry it out. Thats how I got mine out.

Pull all the knobs off. This does come out but, gently. I remember doing this in my '94 about 7 years ago. I think I had the center section off first though.
