3.0 Yamaha V6 In a Runner?

I want to ask a question that is probably a long shot and makes no real logical sense but would be a very trick mod in a 1985 Toyota 4runner. So please tell me what you think and definatly let me know any info as to why this would or why this would not work. Main problem probably lies in the fact that it was in a front drive vehicle so motor mounts are probably really odd and in wierd spots.
I am doing a paint job on a 95 SHO and it is a very strong running car(very hideous though, don't tell the customer). I have been very impressed by the 3.0 yamaha V6 's that were in ford taurus' from '92 to '95 i think. 220HP 200lb-ft. This engine is supposed to be super light weight and reliable. I am a huge fan of Yamaha engineering. So ya i can get a low miles SHO engine and all the electronics for under a grand . not worried about having A/C but definatly need power steering. Plus is this something an ambitious body man by trade can handle? Do you think it is possible to get an adapter to the transmission? The toy 5 speed can handle 220 high reving horses right? So let me know am I outta my mind or what? Thanks for any input.

PS anyone heard of goin with the 2.7 late model toyota engine?results?costs?

Aint gonna work b/c its not a rwd platform engine imho. You would be better served with a 3.4L or 350 chevy sb.

you could do that, but it would be a hell of a lot more work than its worth. and i mean MUCH MORE. i believe ud have to make ur truck a midengine and reverse the drive shafts...

Is it because the mounts are at the ends of the block instead of on the sides, or probably because those enines were engineerd to have a tranny that hugs up around it and not send the power out back?
the 3.4 toyota engine? What is the code on those? what about the 2.7's? I notice the intake is on the other side of these engines. I drove a 03 reg cab 5 spd and it sure pulled alot harder than my 22 RE. I know where to get a nice one of these also. Anyone know the engine code on these recent 2.7's. Thanks again for your time.

No offense, but if you dont understand the fact that this vehicle is FWD and your truck is RWD\4WD than you wont be able to do this swap.

get a 5vze (3.4) V6. by far the most popular and well documented swap.

I tought I stated i knew the car was FWD? I also understand that the runner is a four wheel drive vehicle. actually I might have forgotten since it hasnt had and axles under it for 3 months. I have been slightly offended. I just was wondering why exactly this isn't possible for future reference.?? I am convinced that givin enough time and money a body man can do anything. And the 3.4 is the popular one but i have never been one to go the popular route even though thats an awsome way to go. what about the 2.7? Maybe I should start a new thread. Or maybe I should quit having all these crazy pipe dreams and get back to sanding, grinding and blocking my runner so I can drive the thing or actually be ready to do a sick swap. Or maybe I should slack and go to my buddies house? hmmm

the 2.7l 3rz is a great little motor, has a decent aftermarket for it, and given proper documentation probably wouldn't be too much trouble. I have also seen trucks done with 4.3L chevy v6 engines, gives a little more room and has lots of options for aspiration as does the 3.8L Buick V6. also the 2L and the 2LT diesels are direct bolt in swaps. just some options. also there is some documentation on 7mgte supra engine swaps, but for a truck it doesn't have the lower end torque that can be nice. there are also some upgrade kits for the 22r/22re depending on your desired horsepower.
