Kenny's Collision Center in San Diego fixed my window frame, and I installed the Aisin manual regulator that I bought from McGeorge Toyota (Thanks to fellow member who recommended McGeorge to me!)...

I would just cut off the old crimp then crimp a good lug terminal that fits the bolts on the block to the new fusible link wire.

Good job! When you get a chance, I recommend you also add a relay to the horn circuit. Later models have it, not on our first-gens. I think I have a write-up for that as well.

It is because pin 1 of the door-ajar switch where you tapped off is on the negative side of the dome light. Yes, it has 12V there because there is constant 12V at the positive side of the dome bulb....
