It all depends what you want to do with your Runner. Street queen or wheeler?

If it's a street queen then I believe a BL would be fine... that is if you don't mind seeing a bit of your frame showing.

I'd do a mild suspension lift. bj spacer and a rear spring pack. with shocks you will probably spend 4-500.00 and it will ride and function much nicer than a body lift. A body lift would probably costs just as much if you have someone else install it.

Which toothpaste do you prefer as they do different things for different reasons for different people?

There are TONS of threads on body lifts, suspensions lifts and more.

A good place to start is by doing a "search" for "Lift FAQ" and do some reading.

I have both. 5" of suspension lift to clear bigger tires for more ground clearance and flex etc. and a 1" body lift to help w/ clearance issues for things such as custom bumpers, t-case (going to duals eventually) and to get more clearance for my tires.

It all just depends on what you want...there isn't a one size fits all box answer.

I'm confused - from your signature it looks like you have both on your 2nd Gen. Just looking for other opinions?

Anyway - I'd also look at age of the current suspension. A BL isn't going to help with the inevitable butt-sag of the long-lasting 4R.

Street Queen? I'd say BL. You can do a 2" for about $160 or so IF you're turning the wrench.

With a suspension, you'll definitely be spending about $500 for coils and shocks. You may also want to consider manual hubs to keep the wear off your CVs.
