Not sure what to suggest. I don't think most smog techs will even notice the difference. Just make sure you have a "carb" sticker for your intake and your check engine light is functioning.

Don't go to the car wash/smog station behind the 7-11 at Magnolia and Mission Gorge. Guy there is a jerk.

You will have to take it to a referee station to get the swap inspected and signed off the first time.

i live in ocean beach...i think i went to a local place there to get my old car smogged, on the corner of sunset cliffs and west pt. loma. don't remember much about it, except there weren't any hassles. i have seen that prices can vary between places, so i'd probably just call around and see who's the cheapest.

The guy behind 7/11 wanted to fail me on the visual inspection because my intake had no "CARB" sticker. He would probably nail you.

The guy who does mine in Imperial Beach (Genes Towing/Smog) Said that it was cool that I had the CARB stickers for the FIPK intake and the Gibson Exhaust system but that the laws had changed to a pass or fail as long as all the #'s were good. If you want to call and talk to him his name is Danny and he has been cool to me so far. THe shop is on Palm Ave right off the 5.

go to a ref.... there isnt a legal way around it... in fact, if you do a engine swap, you msut go to a ref afterwards anyways.....

see my signature?!

if you didn't want hassle, then abide by the laws.... take it as a lesson, don't do illegal crap to begin with, and there would have been no issues....
