MasterFlow & SuperFlow air compressor MF-1050 & MV-50

UPDATE! I talked to a lady at Q Industries for a good 20 minutes about their compressors. The MV-50 and MF-1050 are the EXACT SAME compressor. She admitted the only difference was marketing reasons. The MV-50 (model number only) is basically being discontinued because.....its a long story.

Kragen, Checkers, and Schuck's auto stores have discontinued the MV-50 and have no plans to carry the MF-1050....another long story. The only reason you can possibly still find the MV-50 for $25 is because those auto stores i mentioned are taking a huge loss on what they have leftover in their warehouses.

PepBoys sells the "newer" MF-1050 for $49.99-59.99
Its its still worth every cent! These compressors origanally sold for 69.99 and other stores are still selling it for even more.

Now heres the big update which i very well may be the first to know
In the next couple weeks, Q Industries are comming out with a Twin Cylinder/Piston compressor thats essentially two MF-1050 compressors in one. It's already known as "The Dually" which is what the guys at Q Industries are calling it. Its going to be marketed specifically to 4X4 wheelers.
They have a prototype made that has gone through testing and produces twice the amount of CFM as the current MF-1050. The price tag will be at or near $200 (Still a lot cheaper than the $300-$400+ Quick Air units)
The lady i spoke to was very aware of the Off Road community and how their compressors have been important in relation to sales. She also mentioned 'Quick Air' while talking about comparison. Im expecting to hear back from her soon as Q Industries are ready to put their new compressor into production.

Even though the yet-to-be realsed compressor sounds nice, the original (MV-50 or MF-1050) is what im after. Im just lettin' everyone know what i found out.

Another update:
I just tried to order four SuperFlow MV-50 compressors ($24.99 each) today at www.cskauto.com
After my order was processed, I received the following message,"None of the items in your cart are currently available in our stores or warehouses. Please contact Customer Service at (877) 808-0698"

I called the phone number and was told they are officially sold out!

PepBoys, here i come...

Yea, i should have mentioned some stores do still have them but once there gone- there gone. Both Q Industries and a customer service guy at cskauto.com told me they (Kragen, Checker, Schuck's) are no longer carrying them.

Do you happen to know what the price was?

You want the one that says "Tsunami" on it that is what the MV-50 is. It turned my father onto it and they work just like everyone is posting about.

that one comes with a cigarette lighter plug....no good for volume.

Here's my test on that MF-50 http://gearinstalls.com/pepboys.htm

I kinda figured they would be coming out with something twice as good...for about 3 times the price.....but I still like the 24.99 deal from Peckers though. Glad I scarfed up 5 of them...gave away 1 to Dad...2 to buddies and kept 2 for myself. I still think QA2 is gonna bite a bullet on this one.

5 cfm ($200ish) from the upcoming model sure is tempting....but I see the 49 or 59 Pepboys price for 2.5 cfm a worthy option, too.

hell, you can always get two of the 1050's and plumb them to a common tank and put sep switches on them. that way, when the demand is low, then have one on, but when demand peaks, turn the both on and you've only got about $150 invested in a compressor, a backup, and an air tank.

No prob...let's wait a couple days so I can get a list of people who want em. I dunno how much shipping would be the little things aren't the lightest in the world. I'll start a thread for people who want one.

The Q89 "Dually" has just arrived in stock!

Currently there is a limited number of them out. The ones we have in stock are "Chrome" and they come with a black carry bag just like the others. We will be doing tests this weekend and will post the results.

If your interested in one of these compressor please send me a email so I can give you the test results and a picture of this new compressor.

Viair Look Out!
