A Little Tube Work on the Trekker

After tossing around the internal cage thing, I decided it just wasn't worth the scrafice in room and comfort. I really need some flop protection more.

So, building off Stubb's Sliders I put a hoop in. Waiting for Marlin's Rear crawler bumper to show up, then running a 2 Spreaders to the back for more stability.

Also added a rack in the bed. Makes loading all my crap for the trail easier and saves the fiberglass from abuse over time.

One feature was the tube behind the seats. A 5 point and new seats are in the works. I'm happy with it, even added a place to tuck the topper up out of the way too

Going to Herculine the inside now including the new rack. Almost ready for Tellico..

Thanks man, it's fun building this up. Such a great platform to work with.

I've been to Tellico and know what to expect so part of the plan for this trip was getting this thing done.

Nice job! I really like how you integrated the hoop into the sliders and have it wrap around the cab. Awesome work

awesome work...I like the side panel hoop type design...matches well with the tube doors...whether that was the idea or not...good thinking!

this would would be a cool addition to the bed frame you have fabbed: custom CAN-BACK style top

Looks awesome, ive always liked that body style and will always miss my old '83 pickup. By far the best looking minitrucks IMHO. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the props guys, with this crew of replies , it's a serious compliment.

Westy-I borrowed the design on the hoops from Marlin so it was kinda intentional, just wasnt' sure how the hoop was gona work out. I've been a big fan of Jonny Lang's work for some time and have taken my first shot at a topper (rolled up in the pic) but will probably rework parts of it.

Waskilly- Lookin' forward to checkin' out your rig as well man. We will definately toss back a few cold ones. I don't know much, but will definately tell you what I know

SeaFlea- I do need a new bumper. This thing is just beat. Marlin' promised by this Friday the new one and the crawlbox will be here. Have my fingers crossed for sure on that one.

I'm very fortunate on the mod thing, instead of financing a new DD I made a deal with my wife to build the Trekker up and use it for trail and DD. So far, it's working out great and saving a bunch of money in finance charges, interest, all that.

Well, Tellico fun starts a week from Tomorrow
