94 pickup no brake lights plz help

So its a base model no, power windows or locks, they were working fine, noticed dash lights were out and saw stop lights were not working, found 12v at green wire with red stripe at brake switch, jumped the switch, still no brake lights, replaced tailight relay still no dice, Can someone tell me where / what color wire is on the plug underneath the passenger seat so i can tell if i have voltage there, i trace wires back from underneath pass side of cab to the tail lights and no cuts or frays, i would like to find 12v at the connector to see i voltage is making it from the switch to the plug under the passenger seat

Did you check the bulbs ?

Not burned out Correct style bulb.

Sockets or bulbs not corroded.

Poor ground.

Damage to harness between the switch and bulbs.

Pretty simple circuit.

Tail lights not working either.

It is the same color wire coming out of the switch back at the lights the 4Runner is Green/White

Bulbs work and are the right ones, sockets are greased and ok the outside o the socket is rusty on the passenger side though

first brAke lights and dash lights went out ,talights still worked and signals worked.

I have 12v at the brake switch.
no power between the pos and ground at the pass or drive side harness when the switch is jumped out

Harness does split into a trailer light adapter but i cannot seem to pull the plug out to check the connections its a "hoppys" brand

Would a short at the 3rd brake light make the ones in back not work either, if so a short would blow a fuse no?
I want to see if i have 12v at the plug underneath the passenger side seat so i know it makes it across the dashboard

Yes a Short would cause the fuse to open.

Sometimes corroded plugs work when tested with meter probes but not when things are plugged together.

Enough to drive one to new curse word combinations.

Does the third Brake light work??

Okay so can we rule out a short sincey fuses aren't popping,
3rd brake light does not work, I'll have to check the connections on that plug later

The plugs at the tailights dont look bad, but i cant find 12v at either side
What color wire comes from load side of brake switch to the connector plug under the passenger seat so i can test for voltage there

It is the same color wire that is at the switch on the 4Runner of that year your truck might be different.

Thanks for the help, so remember i said i had voltage at the switch, and that i checked the fuses, i only checked them for continuity, apperently the 10amp fuse contact inside the panel was corroded and arking in between so i was getting voltage just not enough to get the lights on..
i just got a little stiff pipe cleaner cleaned it up replaced the fuse and bent the tabs a little and NOW THEY WORK!

Glad you got it sorted out .

A multimeter works much better then just ringing out circuits

So often meter probes will read but it still will notwork.
